The historical inaccuracies in this film are unbelievable. Ignore the fact that they are speaking English... I can deal with that. But Mammoths that size, and pyramids in the same place... I think not. Saber-toothed cats that look more like Siberian tigers with long fangs... Give me a freaking break! Saber-tooths are indigenous to America you idiots. And I distinctively heard the sound of a sword being pulled from a sheath in the extra clip... the bronze age isn't until 3000 BC! These producers are going to turn the rest of us who don't know any better into idiots!

Interview with Ledger (well before filming):
Daniel Robert Epstein: Have you started to think about how you will play The Joker? Heath Ledger: Yeah. I definitely have an image in my head. I definitely have something up my sleeve. I want to be very sinister. It's so early that I'm trying to be open at this point. I don't want to be glued down to anyone. DRE: Have they given or asked you to read certain comics? HL: The Killing Joke was the one that was handed to me. DRE: Is doing the role of The Joker scary after Jack Nicholson did it so well? HL: I'm not going for the same thing he went for. That would be stupid. It is also two very different directors with different styles. Tim Burton did a more fantastical kind of thing and Chris Nolan is doing nitty gritty handheld realism. I love what [Jack] did and that is part of why I want to do that role. I remember seeing it and thinking how much fun it would be to put on that mask and attempt to do something along those lines. But it would obviously be murder if I tried to imitate what he did. |

Of course Nicholson's Joker was played really well... it's Nicholson! But it's time for a deliciously evil Joker... one that will truely freak us out. And regardless of "f*ggy" complaints about the Brokeback Mountain boy, Ledger has managed to pull off some great character acting. Gary Oldman is a phenominal character actor (one of the best IMO), so I trust him when he says Ledger is going to knock our socks off... I just can't say that enough.

Please don't complain about the new bat suit! The new suit is soooo much better than Burton's bat suit. It's called being functional. Did you ever notice that Keaton couldn't turn his head without turning his whole body? And you say the suit is not pimped out... I guess you would prefer Schumacher's bat nipples and bat buttcheeks. I also loved Nicholson's Joker, but if someone put that Joker in a movie nowadays, the Joker would be laughable... plain and simple. If you just can't get past that, go ahead and wear your parachute pants while listening to that Prince cassette and keep to yourself. Also, I doubt Nolan would be dumb enough to just put the Joker in makeup for the whole movie, so please wait until you see the movie before complaining about that. If Michael Caine and Gary Oldman, two of the best actors in our time, say Ledgers's performance is amazing, I think it's safe to say he's going to kick ass.
