I don't know, Guy ritchie doesn't seem like a director/wirter to make sequels. He'll just make another movie of equal qualitie sooner or later. Hoping Swept Away hasn't killed his career.

Why don't you? At the bottom of all the forums it says "Moderator: Clark Parker". What am I missing? |

Well, it's exactly how you described your movie. A Las Angelas laywer (Richard Gere) just breaks up with his girlfriend, and feeling suffocated from his job (forget what it is) takes his lawyer's ferrari for a spin. Soon he gets lost, pulls over and asks a hooker (Julia Roberts) if she can give him directions, who wilingly hops in the car and burns the car for all it's worth to his hotel, where he doesn't want to have sex, but enjoys her company. They end up having sex about 20 minutes later, anyway (of course). The next day, Gere lets her stay for awhile, then they start to fall for each other, and then he asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend for this prissy rich people event. Then after that, it's like EVERY other chick flick: they get in a fight, they unget in a fight, and they have LOTS of mad, sweaty sex.
...It just so happened to be on TV one night, and what did I have better to do? |

Well, yeah, you're not supposed to connect with them. You're supposed to be them. That's why when link talks, you have to tell him what to say. You're playing the role of link, hence the word "Role Playing Game". Sure giving all the characters personalities and such makes the story line better, but it's not really a role playing game anymore. But you can always have both, like Final Fantasy VII.

If it has the exact same name, and generally the same plot, then it's not called "Copying" it's called a remake. It probably even has some of the same cast and crew as the original.

I thought they did do a remake of Carrie? There's a Carrie on the new release section of my video store. It's been sitting there for a while, they might just be keeping it up there because it's popular. It looks pretty new, too.

I thought Treasure Planet was very good. All the kids within the age group it's directed at thought it was awesome. After watching it in the theatres, my youngest sister and her friends rented it, watched it again and again, and then bought it. It's no Finding Nemo, but it's still very good.
And The Leage of Extraordinary Gentlemen, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Biker Boys are pop-corn flicks, give em' a break. As long as the action is decent and consistant, then bad acting, worse diaulage and a cliche plot is kind of refreshing, as long as it doesn't reach the point of Timeline or Air Rage quality. Just as long as you only watch it once in the theatres, then movies like the Fast and the Furious, SWAT, Torque, The Rundown, The Italian Job, The Mask of Zoro, and so on and so forth are always fun. I love Quentin Tarantino's style, and all of his movies, and also loved Kill BIll. A few of my friends thought Reservoir Dogs was pointless, and Pulp Fiction was boring, and they hated Kill Bill. Quentin Tarantino has a very narrow style, either you love it or you hate it. |

I don't think it would work. Zelda is a role playing game. Link doesn't talk because it's supposed to be completely you controlling him. He's not supposed to have a mind of his own, they're trying to portray it as you doing all that stuff. Giving link a personality would completely take the games out of conext for all fans and loose the "roleplaying" aspect of the games.

Chemical Burn - The dust Brothers (might be the same one that Snatch mentioned... I'm not sure. It's where Tyler Durden pours the lye on Jack's hand)
And the whole sound track from Apocolypse now. The songs may not be much by themselves, but they're more than hair raising with the movie. |
