Also - I'm starting to agree - the past series' suit was better. This one feels like it has too much blue.

As far as the casting goes.... meh. Batman 3? Star Trek? Avengers? Superman? I think I'll have enough money leaving my hand that summer. This really doesn't make me think I should put Spider-man on my priority list.

Besides, Nolan is a classy man, but when it comes to his movies - the man lies to the press constantly. I don't believe the joker is in/out of this movie yet. It remains to be seen.

If you had asked me in 2007 or prior whether i'd want an Australian actor to play the Joker looking like a poor homeless physcopath I'd have thought you were messing with me. And then it happened. And I really could care less what he looks like. The CHARACTER is there. And the acting talent and such.

People are going to argue that it's not with the loyalties to the comic. Well the comics where created in a time of transition. There really wasn't a mentality to have acceptable black heroes then (and I say this as a nerdy white guy.) Hell, there is still a subconcious bias today -- SEE: My Parents and my sister's boyfriend. I was shocked when they made a big deal about that.

The point is, the comics at that time didn't allow it. The movies in our day and age SHOULD. Because it DOESN'T MATTER. It IS racist, no matter how much people claim it's not.

Now, if Peter Parker goes "thug" in this movie, yeah - i'll be pissed. That's a violation of the character and his personality. But if he's just a normal nerdie guy who gets super powers.....then why should we care?

Origin stories on characters are changed all the time to improve them (SEE: every comic book character ever). And in this case, if his talent is better than Mr. Lightning Thief, which I believe it is, then give the boy the part. Geez.

One day I hope to live in a world where I can audition for Nick Fury or Blade and people would be like, "That'd be cool."

If his skin color was detrimental to the story / plot I would object. But I've never encountered a Spider-man story that did. In fact, this may come off racist, but i don't care - does it make any more sense to me that an african american in a role for a kid in low-income housing in NYC being raised by family that is not his direct parents make MORE sense than a white kid? Maybe it's just the view point of many (not all) African American families I've met in my life, but still. It's about his acting skill/talent in this case.

NOT to mention, talent aside, this is the kind of publicity / intrigue Sony would need to even hold a match to Batman 3 that week.

Mattyboy.... why not? It's not like they were dramatic social commentary. They're comedies with great characters. Why not have another outing?

But now they have built in audiences and the bigger names returning. People know who Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd are now. Not to mention people who found the movies on DVD and enjoyed them will go see the sequel.

Just sounds like Paramount is trying to pull a fast one. Farrell and Stiller should agree to the $40mil budget but put in their contracts that they get a percentage of the gross if it goes over studio expectations.

before this movie was green lit the plot wasn't ever going to deliver anything new. Bounty hunter in the old west. That's what Jonah Hex is. But the strong point should come from characterization. And Brolin looks like he delivers.

It's kind of like those people on the fence about Iron Man 2. The plot may end up being crap, but RDJ and Mickey Rourke will deliver fun and entertaining characters. This won't be TDK, but I don't think it's gonna be Wild Wild West or Ghost Rider either.
