About Me:
Enjoying oceans, forests, and the mountains; personally I'd like to meet Richard Branson. A world traveler, born in the land of the midnight sun, seeing myself as thoroughly educated by mother nature and father time. Always in love with the exploration of the world wide wilderness from the comfort of my couch as well as from a sled. A big fan of Google:Earth and Pandora. A survivalist, a student of history, an addict of political commentary, and the continuous discovery of forgotten aspects of the natural universe. The first experience with computers was in 1980. First portable computer was an Apple ][c, owned nearly every piece of software written for it before moving into the wild, complicated, and interesting world of Guru errors on an Amiga 500. Custom chip sets always rock. I got into building my own computers. My parents hated the addiction at first but learned that it was a lot better than wanting to pursue more radical or rebellious habits like everyone else. Growing up, I learned how to use a variety of different computing systems. Home schooled for the better part of my education. Graduated high school here in the Last Frontier, toward the end of the Cold War with the U.S.S.R.

I still go through laptops at a rate of about one every six months.

Once I discovered Linux, I never looked back. I use my Windows platform from time to time, only to remind myself how incredibly thankful I am for open-source operating systems. My first modem was in around 1989; it was during the same time I was studying for certification in consumer electronics and a HAM radio license. Entering college at twenty, after a short battle with an addiction to building 60's era musclecars, collecting 8-tracks, vinyl and vintage reel to reel players.

Yes, I am a geek.

Yes, I am a fan of Ironman and Star Trek. Yes, I collect comic books. Funny part is, I never sell my collections. I also collect camera equipment, especially Nikkor lenscraft. Some parts of which, have become relatively valuable. The very first internet website I built was in 1997 on a whim, thinking that the commercialized world wide wilderness would never happen. I discovered I was wrong. I've learned that the internet tends to be an awesome way to make extra income through desktop publishing, design, and coding. Mobile web applications are now becoming the next "thing" as my interests are expanding. Social media has created an entirely new political landscape, as it has joined groups into countries without borders. Have been following the development of these applications, and how they impact world commerce. I follow the markets out of a sheer blind mathematical ambition, and so that I might sound more intelligent when arguing about economics. I also have dabbled in gold mining, since this is, after all, Alaska. It is an addiction like any other, that is as equally hopeless, akin to that which technology has forever taken a permanent place in my life.
