This is such a dumb idea. For one thing, the central premise doesn't work. In the early 80's, having a horror host trying to save his series works. In 2009 there aren't any horror hosts left on TV. And if there were any, they didn't star in a bunch of vampire hunting movies in their earlier days. This is a film that will only be watchable with a severe infusion of alcohol, mark my words.

This is all for the good. I want more Trek - so long as it remains at the level of quality of this film. Heck, if you could possibly get the actors to do it, I'd love to see a new Trek series involving these characters.

Just a point of clarity - I fully realize that Star Trek will be Wolverine this weekend. What I want is for Star Trek's opening weekend (this weekend) to beat out Wolverine's opening weekend (last weekend).

C'mon people! Go see it again! It will be a travesty if "Wolverine" has a better opening weekend BO than this film!

Hard for me to consider "Big Man Japan" a part of summer 2009 when it's been hitting festivals ever since Spring of 2008.

Sorry to you both - I tried to avoid any overt spoilers. I thought I was being vague enough in my descriptions. Glad you otherwise enjoyed the review, however.

Not sure about the specifics, but yeah, pretty much Fox has the rights to anything that is used in X-Men. I suppose that, if Deadpool hadn't appeared in XMO: Wolverine, and they didn't reference the Weapon X project or Stryker, Marvel probably could have made a film about him, keeping the rights themselves. But since that didn't happen...

You know, it's worth noting that Donner suggested that they might go back to what made the X-Men movies good in the first place, and see if Bryan Singer would be interested in directing Deadpool. Give Deadpool to Singer and I think we've got a movie on our hands.

I'm excited about all of them. Cap will be some great WWII era superhero action, Thor will be "Lord of the Rings" meets "Iron Man" and The Avengers will just be balls-to-the-walls awesome.

Have to say, I'm digging the Mark IV suit - nice and slimmed down from the Mark III. I'll bet you we see at least two more suits in Tony's stable. War Machine won't just be the MK II, and he'll undoubtedly pull out a surprise suit at the climax.

Considering how many other good shows are going to be canceled, I'm trying to just be happy that they aren't reducing the number of episodes ordered to "zero".

This is one of the most awesome geek cross-overs. I really want to see this episode get a great reaction, and I'd love to see the rivalry between the Doctor and Rani continue on through several seasons of the show. The Doctor needs more worthy adversaries on the scale of the Master or Davros, and Rani could be just what we need to fit the bill.

What a shock that an inventive show with an unusual premise that was put on at a dismal time slot should get such an ignoble demise. I loved this show, and really wanted to see more of it.
