Great review. However I disagree with your head. When you saga, I assume your including part 3. Which I think is atrocious? Still good performances but the plot was very repetitive and weak. Godfather is just another one of those trilogies that fails on the third installment.

Thanks to Twilight. 2011 will see another 10 billion dollar year for the film industry. Sherlock and Mi4 will bring enough to help out but this Twilight saved lives.

To add on. Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1, an all 2d version released movie, on Wednesday, Arthur Christmas, a 3D animated movie only 2 million, and Hugo, a 3d family film with only a little over 1 million not even in the top five. Even though this is only Wednesday, studios were expecting these two films to do well, especially Paramount with Hugo.

@tyler Even so the amount money made from the 3D version still couldn't satisfy studios. Studios expect 3d box office revenue to pay for all of there expenses:Production budget, foreign marketing, distribution, domestic marketing. And there not. Disney executives for Pirates of the Caribbean said their 3d revenue was very soft compared to Imax, which I'm sorry still dominates 3D. Yes studios like money but they also like saving money on something that doesn't overwhelming perform well. Keep in mind substantial amount or not the production house, not the studios, receive the bigger cut. The studios put out for advertising, theater pushes and etc. expenses. Sony/Columbia pictures came out recently and said they would stop paying for the 3d glasses eventually. Basically, 3d production costs more for the studios and they're not seeing a big enough return, at least for this year. Now maybe next year with Spider Man or even Men In Black 3, 3d could turn around big time and become a revolution like it was claimed to be almost 2years ago. If not, then unfortunately, 2012, which says it all with the year, will be the ending in site for this version.

@tyler Fright Night 3D, Conan 3D, Drive Angry 3D, Priest, Green Lantern, Final Destination 5, Glee 3D, Shark Night 3D, and The Three Musketeers all failures. By the way Pirates of the caribbean and Transformers 3 made more on there 2D versions than 3D. Not sure about Harry Potter. But still like I said failure. Also, people don't wanna see a movie a again if they don't like it the first time no matter from 3d to 2d. If this continues, I wonder if studios will continue to drown this gimmick down audiences throats or will 2013 be the end of the 3d craze.

It's amazing how today's push of 3D with studios still refusing to give up on it, with the box office 3d failures of countless movies this year. If this was the 80's, they would have been trashed this gimmick. Which it still is.
