I feel so cheesy posting why I "must have these tickets", but I am definitely willing to swallow my pride because these are so very worth it lol. I am an avid ready (have been my whole life), but my son Cody is not. In fact he is the complete and total opposite! He has a very hard time with understanding what he reads. We are working with doctors and his school now to find out if he is dyslexic or possibly has a non-verbal learning disorder. So, yeah reading and Cody ... not a very good relationship there. Back in October my grandmother passed (Cody was very close to her). She had always been a big reader and wanted nothing more than to see Cody get passionate about it as well. It was then that I decided I was going to do everything I could to get a fire sparked in him for reading. Now, i've read loads of books many of them have been moving, interesting, and riveting, but Hunger Games just hooked me from page 1. I knew if any book would get my guy into reading it would have to be this one. So, I started planting the seed. I'd talk about it around him and I could see a hint of interest in his eyes. Finally one morning I wake up and my book is missing from my book stand. Guess where it was... Yep! He was reading it!!!!! Oh my goodness it was like Christmas morning for me! I didn't have to threaten bodily harm to get him to read! I plan on taking him at least to the midnight premiere, so he can see what he's been reading on the big screen, but the Hollywood premiere would be epic. I really cannot think of a better way to celebrate his new found passion for reading, and what better way to help keep that fire burning for books :) Either way a huge thanks to Suzanne Collins for writing this amazing series! I'm sure my son is not the only child who has been drawn into reading thanks to these books, and thanks to this movie I'm sure he will not be the last. I am sure after seeing this movie everyone will want to know about Katniss' journey in the next 2 books .
