not sure they were "exclusively" British
Quite true! This film is not completely overseen by the Britons, but to be classed unique within a particular culture as these HP films have been is a breath of fresh air. A break from the common! :!:

:) Not many British films were known to the U.S., or should I say accepted because they would always be compared to its American counter-part. It is not until recently that this comparison habit has fallen a bit giving foreign films and authors the freedom to express themselves in the style particular to their culture.
I have enjoyed many of the British films and the most recently: the 3 Harry Potter´s, Love Actually, About a Boy were good movies, a tribute to that freedom.

:x We do not want multicultural; we get enough of that! Harry Potter has brought us not only an adventure never before seen on the screen, it has brought into light with a ´unique culture´ that can be understood by a younger generation.
And point of order, I do not whine; I discuss...Now, if no one can tolerate this particular topic then ignore it. If you can! If the topic is too much or if the subject matter seems a bit off track for you, then I suggest you re-evaluate the purpose of why you bother to answer these threads.

I guess all of you are too innocent to read into what was insinuated.
Guess I have no choice but to down-play my philosophy a bit. Quite a bit!
Toodles!

 Just because there are actors from all over the world in Hollywood that do get the recognition that they deserve, doesn´t mean that the cultural strains aren´t there! If there are actors from a particular country that wish to remain pure within the confines of their cultural ´uniqueness´; this would not be considered cloudy. Unlike what a multicultural Hollywood would offer.

The development of who...Adrian? Is she going to fight Rocky in the ring now? Sly´s comments doesn´t inspire any confidence that this next Rocky flick will be any good.
Sorry, Sly! :?

 Why did she have to die you ask?
She was pregnant and as far as the story goes; there cannot be another anomoly like Neo in such a short interval of time. Neo's child would have naturally possesed the anomoly for skills great as or greater than his pop. The story line could not have supported such an instability for the Matrix. Her death probably kept the stability that has always existed since the dawn of machines; the balance or co-existance between man and machine.

 Lets recap the sequence of events for... Anne? Is it? These two versions you claim to have seen...the first was with your boyfriend and the following was without him. There...I believe we have solved the puzzle.

:? Mel Brooks came out with a movie called SpaceBalls (Time and place far away); some of you might remember that comedy was a big hit. One thing about that movie that sticks out in my mind as prophecy...During the scene when Lone Star and Barf (Barfalomew) in their Winnebageau were watching the news, the news reporter stated: "And now Bongos review of Rocky 5...Thousand!"
After rocky 3, I didn't imagine a four or a Rocky 5...Much less a Rocky 6. Do you see a trend here...a prophecy in fulfillment?
ADRIAN!

What you mean 'nevermind'?
Whoever this Craig Sheffer dude may be; he darn well better be British? We don't need American actors clouding the British cultural uniqueness. We get enough cloudiness from Hollywood as it is.

:?: Who the hell is this Craig guy?

In the latest BBC interview with J.K. Rowling, she puts to rest the ´unrest´ among those eager to know, before the book 6 is out, who this half-blood prince may be. The British author states that it is ¨neither Harry nor Voldemort and that´s all I´ll say about that¨.
So, from the get-go we know which two main characters is NOT the half-blood prince.
No Harry and no Tom Ryddle. I truly believe that the author will not make this one easy to solve before the book is released sometime early next year.
Even for those who have read all five books; guess work is all we are left with.
The title Half-Blood Prince obviously denotes immediate muggle decent which rules out Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, Nott and any of the Weasley brothers since these are all pure-bloods. This also rules out muggle-borns such as Dean Thomas, Justin Fletcher or Colin Creevy,
So which of the students may fit the profile of being a possible half-blood prince; well, Seamus Finnegan? This is certainly a possibility, but not highly probable. His magic isn´t all that great!
We can move from the students to the faculty, but much of their background is non-existant, so we would be stretching a lot if we enter speculation about their past.
There is hope, however, for the faculty in that if we cannot study their past, we can study their actions.
If I were to guess who this Half-Blood Prince is: I would guess, Albus Dumbledore.
Why Dumbledore, well; look what he has done! Hired Hagrid, a half giant, as keeper of grounds and keys at Hogwarts, hired a werewolf; Remus Lupin as DADA teacher, Hired a Centaur to teach Divination as Trelawney´s substitute, and at the end of book five Dumbledore tells Harry that the ¨statue in the Ministry of Magic told a lie¨, the lie was that wizards have always been kind to non-humans and half-humans.
The true answer, of course, will not be evident until book 6 is read.

Let´s get passed the idea that old Johnny will ever get the part of Voldemort in Harry Potter´s fourth flick.
First, the fact that the British Acting Guild has made it clear that no non-British actor or actress will get any part in what is a ¨purely British¨ achievement.
Second, no one can take away the fact that John Malkovich is a superb director; although, compared to Ralph Fiennes (WHO HAS ALREADY BEEN CHOSEN TO PLAY THE PART OF VOLDEMORT), Johns acting is found wanting.
No one can play the part of a psycho better than Fiennes who played it well in Red Dragon with Anthony Hopkins and Ed Norton. The only one that does come close in psycho level is Gary Oldman, and he´s British!
