@ejk1 Oh, and "Bye". Will I be seeing more E-Mail notices, or are you going to stop talking about this?

@justincase Oh, I forgot. I mentioned the "two people" so you guys might consider that the actions of Movieweb are affecting actual people. Instead of you guys claiming it's a minor skirmish or just about a "game".
Oh, and "Bye". |

@xssiv Oh, yeah "bye". Thanks!
@ejk1 I told you I was taking off. Why are you still addressing me? You have a ridiculous need to assign motivations to people so you can rationalize your view of the world. It wasn't an attention grab, nor am I a troll. The users here continuously made stupid comments to legitimate arguments, and I only returned the favor (but my arguments actually made sense). You can single out my brain quirk for misspelling "bye", but that's just petty. You don't seem to be able to understand that law and morality exist separately. Face-Off may be "legally" acceptable based on a loophole (though I doubt it), but blatantly copying someone else's work and design is not moral. There is a difference. Wake up. |

@justincase Sorry, couldn't let this pass. Did you read the letter from Flickchart's lawyer? It's available at the site. Check it out! Flickchart was created by two people and Movie web stole their DESIGN and CONCEPT. Buy guys!

@ejk1 I'm not making anymore comments after this because no one here has even tried to defend Movieweb in a logical or reasonable manner. I didn't prejudge anyone. I came here and saw Movieweb users making inane and obnoxious comments about Flickchart that they simply cannot back up with the facts. They willfully ignore the truth of the matter, which is that Face-Off was stolen from Flickchart. Instead of honestly and fairly discussing the issue, they made stupid comments. There is nothing to do but complain here because Movieweb committed an unjust act. I'm tired of explaining that to you and others. I've done nothing hypocritical. I'm standing up for what I believe in, which is quite the opposite. But I'm done. I've refuted every ridiculous, poorly thought out comment thrown at me and other concerned Flickchart users. All you guys have left to do is wade in your willful ignorance until Flickchart wins this fight.

@ejk1 It is a morality issue. I don't agree with the "us" vs. "them" mentality. My sense of community with Flickchart is overrided by sense of what is right and what is not. They didn't just take random shots at Movieweb. They were rightly questioning what Movieweb had done. If they genuinely belive that Flickchart was wronged, what are they supposed to say? The evidence on their side is very strong. I'm not being biased here. I read the attorney's letter and really couldn't belive what I saw. So what should I do, then? Just start using Movieweb even though I firmly believe that they are in the wrong? That would be hypocritical.

I knew nothing about what Rob Tabor was doing, or any Flickchart user was doing. All I know is, I came and saw that the comments of other Flickchart users were being dismissed without any respect or consideration. Why would I want to get to know anyone here when all they were was flippant and dismissive. This isn't just a bout some minor web skirmish. The creators of Flickchart put a lot effort into their site. It's part of their livelihood. Movieweb took all their work and claimed it as their own. And if Flickchart pulled something like this, I would quit the site instantly. I don't just follow.

@ejk1 The comment board is here for a reason. Or is it just for people who approve of what the site has done? You're obviously a moral coward who resents people who actually care about what goes on. I didn't come here to "bitch". I came here to check out the site and found a shameless rip-off. I care about the rights of others and you just stick your head up your ass. You need to grow up and learn to actually give a sh*t.

@ejk1 Wow. You mean "growing up" means not caring about right and wrong? So, if I watch the news and see that an old woman was robbed in her home I shouldn't care? It's not my stuff, after all. Right and wrong exists for everyone and should be acknowledged by everyone. You can stick your head in the sand and be "grown up" all you want. Your logic is absurd.

@ejk1 It's not about a "game". It's about one group of people taking what doesn't belong to them from another group of people. That should bother you. I don't get anything from Flickchart beyond the enjoyment of using it. I came to this site and was truly amazed at how blatantly similar this site was to Flickchart. Maybe the disregard for right and wrong exhibited by the users here fascinates me. Perhaps they should be studied by a sociologist or something.

@dan1 Ah, yes. Enjoy it while you can. Based on the glaringly damning evidence presented by Flickchart's lawyer, Movieweb will probably be paying for quite a few Flickchart improvements in the future. Enjoy the view from your sinking ship. I know it's difficult to accept reality when one has been so conniving.

@skywise Say what you will about Flickchart, but you are overlooking the simple fact that Face-Off is not Movieweb's idea or design. If you take some time to read the letter sent by Flickchart's legal representation, this should be abundantly clear. So calling Flickchart a "one-trick pony" or "a piece of sh*t" is irrelevant. They are a one-trick pony with an idea and design that they created and Movieweb stole from them.
Anyway, @chickflick. Did you create cats? Did you create a breed of cats? Did you even design and create your own cat? No? Oh, then your point is utterly worthless! I hope Movieweb uses these kinds of arguments when defending their hopeless case. |

@elmstreet @chickflick Let's clear up an error - Flickchart has 25,000 movies in the database. But that doesn't matter. Nor does it matter if Movieweb is bigger. What does matter is that Flickchart sent Movieweb a legal doc*ment clearly illustrating that Movieweb brazenly copied the site design. Movieweb refused to shut down Face-Off, and instead have cravenly attempted to make minor changes to Face-Off in order to cover their behinds. Why would they change anything if they haven't done anything wrong?
This is not cyber-bullying from Flickchart users. If anything, Movieweb is more guilty of bullying, since they are so much bigger than Flickchart as you say. Why pick on a smaller guy and steal their site design and concept? |

@dan1 I am simply making it as clear as possible to the perpetrators of this unbelievable act of thievery that not everyone will stand by and say nothing. You don't seem to understand that you are defending an obviously dishonest act. I am not being "melodramatic". I am telling it like it is. I can't speak for the administrators of Flickchart, but I can express my disagreement with the behavior of this site as a concerned citizen. I would be quite happy to see this absolute and total rip-off fail miserably, but until then I will remain a voice of reason.

@dan1 Oh, I won't use it. Flickchart is superior in every way. But I don't mind spending time here countering the ignorant BS you guys are blabbing on about. You people need a wake up call. Face-Off is created by unscrupulous rip-off artists and they must be reminded as much as possible of their shady behavior. Villainy only prevails when good people do nothing. You are part of the problem.
