Oh and also Jay Byrd, the dog's name was deliberatley dubbed over as 'Trigger' for the American release as not to upset them so it would be a suprise that the announcement that the name will be changed the Digger for the remake is most likelyto reflect this feeling, of not wanting to upset the Americans, more than anyone else.

Jay Byrd, you seem to have no idea what the Dambusters are. I should know i live on RAF Scampton and know all about the base's history including the Dambusters in great detail. The dog's name is extremely important, it was the code that the Dambusters used during the raid on the dams in Germany. Yes the word is an unpleasant one that is seen as a racial slur now but back then it wasn't. It is a historical fact that the dog's name was Nigg*r and that shouldn't be changed. Also I have no idea where you are getting the idea that the original film 'glossed over' the deaths of some of the officers in the raid, I have watched the film several times and I know for a fact that they are all grieving during the last few scenes of the film for the loss of their friends. In fact the scene after the raid is the remaining officers sat in silence in the mess hall, remembering the fallen. So do you go saying that, one, the dog's name isn't important and, two, that the officers killed during the raid were 'glossed over'
