Lex Luthor Begins His Descent on Smallville

The moment that Smallville fans have been waiting for seven years is about to arrive, when the show returns with new episodes in April. Brian Peterson, executive producer of the show, told SCI FI Wire that this episode shows where Lex truly goes bad.

"I would say if you are going to watch one episode of Smallville, you need to watch Descent", Peterson said. "It is pivotal. It is up there with Clark [Tom Welling] opening the Fortress of Solitude. It's right up there."

Kelly Souders, co-executive producer, added "Lex has had a lot of challenges in his life, and he's sort of gone and sat on that fence all these years. This is the episode he leaps off of it."

Before that moment, fans can look forward to the March 27 episode Veritas, where Kara teaches Clark how to fly, to help Clark prepare to battle Braniac.

Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristen Kreuk, John Glover, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore and Laura Vandervoot.

The creators of the show said at the start, that he will never fly and never be in the suit.

Descent had better have lex go bad, I'm not pleased that Clark still doesn't fly after 7 seasons. Where did Kara and Brainiac fly off to, the remains of krypton.
I'm a fan of the show but felt the love story between Clark and Lana has gotten old.

I think that branic ruined the show I mean Clark and lana were Starting there relationship I also think that Chloe will use her power to save lana so her and clark can be together even though she loves clark she is willing to do it for clark because she cares for him alot she has pointed out that she is willing to do anything for Clark and I think that is awsome and Lex he also ruins the show he always makes clarks life miserable. big Smallville fan

My opinion on this is possibly Chloe using her powers to heal Lana and this is the end of Chloe. Remember Clark had warned Chloe that if she used her powers again, she may not recover since each time she has used them, it was getting more and more dangerous.

We all know Chloe loves Clark, but she loves him enough to give him what he loves more...Lana. Perhaps this will be the true cliffhanger at the end of the season.

We know someone big in the cast is getting killed off, and my guess it is Chloe...

My $.02

Veritas was a joke. After seeing it last night and watching people sacrifice themselves for Lana, feel guilty that Lana got hurt, and feel even more guilty that she's in pain, I can say I actually fear what these people think will be a good episode for Lex, namely, because everythign he might do? Will be for Lana. *rolls eyes* Run Michael, Leave the show and go on to greater things than this Lanaville.

Also? Worst episode ever for Clark fans wanting to see him fly. It was just a bad joke through and through. Why do you ask? Because we should feel sorry for Lana. Pft. Idiot needs to suffer for ruining what could have been a great show.

I've seen Veritas already (it airs a day early in Canada) and it was not the show it was pushed to be. It sets up the past story and futrue plot well, but not much else happens. Those who want to see Clark fly, may be let down.
