The Kill Pit's Steve Shill has taken on the task of directing NBC's remake of Knight Rider. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two-hour pilot will be inspired by Transformers.

Doug Liman was originally supposed to direct the telefilm, but his already full schedule prevented him from stepping up to the plate. The pilot will air later this season on NBC.

Dave Andron wrote the pilot script and will serve as supervising producer. Liman and Dave Bartis are executive producing for Universal Media Studios and Dutch Oven Productions.
