UPDATED: Smallville Prepares for a Future Without Chloe

UPDATE: Good news for fans of Smallville and specifically the character of Chloe. While the season finale will still leave Chloe's future in doubt, according to TV Guide, Allison Mack's representatives and producers of the show did manage to come to a deal - meaning that we will see Chloe in Season Eight of Smallville.

It had already been revealed that talks between Allison Mack and the producers of Smallville weren't going well, leaving the door open for the show to be without Lex, Lana or Chloe as it enters it's eighth season. Now, Mike Ausiello from TV Guide reveals exactly what that might mean for the series' finale which airs this week.

"I wish I could say [it isn't so]," Ausiello begins, "but unless there was a major development in the negotiations between Mack and Warner Brothers in the past 48 hours, there's a very real chance Smallville will be Chloe-less next season. And, having seen this week's season finale I can tell you that the show won't have any trouble explaining Chloe's absence next season, should they be forced to go down that road."

To see the full video interview with Ausiello

Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristen Kreuk, John Glover, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore and Laura Vandervoot.

wow. well doomsday better have sick graphics is all i can say. i will totally miss lex. Michael was awesome. i will kinda miss Chloe. I have a weird feeling that tess is not made up. she could be poison ivy. thats just me. after all the show says she will have influence on people. even Clark. but wasn't some1 like poison ivy done in the second season? either way i look forward to this. this has to be the last season. the series is losing to much.

consider the source but this was on this site http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4535.asp

The negotiations have ended, a new contract has been signed, and everyone's favorite blond meteor-freak reporter, Chloe Sullivan, is returning to Smallville for Season Eight. Although the specifics of her new deal haven't been disclosed, TV guides MICHAEL AUSIELLO reports that Allison Mack likely will feature in every episode next season.

So, the shows regular ensemble is expected to include Mack as Chloe, Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Laura Vandervoort as Kara (Zor-El) Kent and Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen. Due to the exit of Lex Luthor [Michael Rosenbaum] and the death of father Lionel (John Glover) late in Season Seven, two new villains will be added: Davis "Doomsday" Bloom and a female named Tess.

I've got mixed feelings about seeing Doomsday on TV. They'll likely have to change his origin and the battle between him and Clark might not live up expectations.

They are talking about Doomsday and a woman who has similar powers to Clark

in a way, i again agree with andrewryan. bizarre. anyway, i thought the season finale was pretty interesting and i kinda wanna see how they can find a loophole into the whole cast leaving and stuff and make it work.

Kind of figured this was going to happen, her character will be missed by the FANS of the show. In the 8th season without Lex, who could be the main protagonist.
