Full House's Lori Loughlin has signed on to appear in the upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 remake that the CW is currently prepping. According to Variety, producers wanted Hillary Duff for the lead female role on the series, but the singer politely turned down the offer.

The decision to turn down the series had nothing to do with the quality of the script. While Duff's camp claims to have liked the material, they explained that the actress was looking for more diverse roles to tackle.

As for Loughlin, she will play Celia Mills, mom of Annie (the role originally meant for Duff). The series pilot will be going into production this summer for a possible late fall debut.
