The Inbetweeners is a painfully intimate look at the cringe inducing humiliations of teenage life.

Will MacKenzie's school year is off to rather bad beginnings. For starters, his father has left his mother and he's found himself transplanted from a posh private school to a public school in a suburb of London. His stint in private school did a good job of prepping him for the world—he's smart, confident, well-read, quick-witted and outspoken. Unfortunately, none of those skills are helping him, in fact, they are making it more difficult for him to connect with the other students and faculty. The harder Will tries to fit in, the more mess he makes of things.

Lucky for Will, Simon is forced to show him around the new school. As a result, Will finds himself palling around with Simon and his two friends, Jay and Neil. The four of them often succumb to terrible advice, poor decision making and very, very bad ideas that tend to make situations much worse. Together, they attempt to make it through the trials of being awkward teenagers neither cool, nor credible in middle-class suburbia.
