So, we are down to the last two seasons of LOST. All the speculation will be put to rest. Are they all dead? Is it some secret plot, and all of them were stranded on the Island on purpose? Is it some expierment gone wrong? Hey what if in the Series Finale of Lost some Mr. Rourke and Tatoo-Typed charecters came out of one of the hatches and said "Welcome to Fantasy Island"?
Its so sad to hear that there is only 48 episodes left - after the end of season 3 - until the show ends. The final episode airs in 2010. That means that the last season is season 5. Damn i really like that show.
Spoilers if you have not seen the end of season 3.
Season 4 is going to concentrate on the "evacuation" of most or some of the castaways/and the others. How? May be the people, who made contact with jack, at the end of season 3, will help or force the castaways to leave the island. In season 3 finale, before jack made contact with the people near the island, Ben said that they were all going to die if the mysterious people got to the island. It is obvious that Ben knows who these new people are. Season 4 may reveal important secrets of the island to some of the castaways before they are rescued or taken away from the island(They better explain what the four-toed-statue leg is all about, could it be Jacob's leg?). Also, not just the castaways will leave the island; some of the "others" might leave too.
During the finale of season 3, jack was the only visitor to someone's memorial service ant that person, I think is Ben, the leader of the "others" (I think is Ben because no one else would go to Ben's memorial service). Ben might have explained the secrets of the island to jack before or after they left the island which is why jack went to the service. Jack is desperate to go back to the island to either save someone left in the island or to satisfy his curiosity (maybe he didn't get all the answers from Ben). Ben probably dies because he leaves the island before he is fully recovered from the surgery that jack performed on him.
If some of this happens, and knowing J.J Abrams, it will not; season five might deal with some of the castaway's, like jack, Kate, Sawyer, and whom ever escaped, attempt to go back to the island. The reason I think that the flash-forwards are not the end of the series is because, at the finale of season 3, jack was not happy and he is totally different from the man he was suppose to become. Which means that he's character needs a resolution. That resolution may come in season 6 once he makes it back to save whom ever or to fulfill his curiosity from the island. Some questions that I ask my self are, what could he possibly know that is making him miss the island? Who is Jacob? What is the island? Is the smoke really a security system?, and if so, for what? I think that the island history is older then we know, and the ruins of the four-toe foot supports that theory. Could the island be the remains of an ancient alien colony or the location of Atlantis, either way, the show will deliver.
