Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue abound. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor. Eddard, suspecting that his predecessor had been murdered, accepts so that he can investigate further. It turns out more than one family is plotting to take the throne. The Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching an incestuous plot to take control. Across the sea, the last surviving members of the previously deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also plotting a return to power. The conflict between these families and others, including the Greyjoys, the Tullys, the Arryns, and the Tyrells, leads to war. Meanwhile, in the north, an ancient evil awakens. Amidst war and the political confusion, a brotherhood of misfits, The Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and the horrors beyond.

One word: Improvement. The aforementioned is what Game of Thrones is begging for, and oh-so needs. Big battle scenes? Never take place onscreen. Editing? Sporadically incoherent. CGI/Make-up? Need work. Decapitated heads look fake, and stale. So does the CGI, at times. These things constantly take me out of the story, and remind me that I'm only watching a TV show -- which prevents me from being compelled by any occurring events.
Oh, and did I mention that the cliche's are plentiful - at times - completely unbelievable? "Unbelievable" may not be the word I should use to describe such a show, but when someone halts a chase, when all they have to do is look around the corner in order to make the catch, you know somethings wrong.

this show rocks!!! :D Can't wait for Season 2...
1. the Lannister's will have their hands full left and right.
2. can't wait for the Stark family to beat the crap out of the Lannister's!
3. Sansa deserves her predicament (gullible and pathetic)
4. Jon will have his day coming...to be recognized as a true warrior and as a Stark!
5. Let Jaime roth in his cell (a little more beating)
6. Tyrion is excellent as always!
7. I'm glad Arya is going to The Wall at least his beloved half-brother can be with her...
8. Robb is busy now please try your call later!
9. Wish Tyrion can still have a change of heart...
10 Joffrey Baratheon (ehem Lannister) is succeeding...villain to be despised nice one "Batboy"! :P
PS: least we forget...Daenery's and her winged "babies" she bides her time until all will burn LOL :D
