Kiefer & the producers say that they wanted to go out on top but the production people & some of the actors are saying the show cost too much to produce & that's the real reason.
Great way to end it. Definitely sets it up for the movie. During the last few scenes, when Jack was about to be shot and killed by Logan's men, I thought that Ricker would save Jack just as he was about to die. Because Jack saved his life, he would pay him back. But they had to have the one on one with Jack and Chloe, that was good though. They needed that at the end.
Anyone else notice that Kiefer's "Events occur in real time" was added back to the intro for the first time since at least the second season maybe even the first? All and all a pretty good end to a really good series and I can't wait until Jack Bauer attacks the big screen!!!
I thought the finale was pretty good, i always enjoyed this show for the most part. This final season was only okay though. The movie should be entertaining.
At the end you see him walking carefully down the street, about to make his escape. The prez pretty much tells him he'll be hunted by the Russians and the American government. Set up for awesome 24 movie!! :)
I thought it was excellent. Perfect ending for the series and leaving it open for the movie. Sad to see it go. Fox will def have to come out with something big to replace this whole in their schedule. I just cant see watching something beside Jack Bauer on Monday nights. He is without a doubt the definition of the TRUE AMERICAN BADASS. I dare anyone else to argue that.
24 started out as a great show with so many things that kept you guessing. Over the years the show has lacked the freshness it once had. Season 6 by far being the weakest of them while season 1 and 5 the best. 2,3 and 4 being damn good. Season 7 gave us a new look at 24 but still trying to get those twists in there for so many fans who complain when they didn't have any twist become the same fans who complain when the show becomes absurd because of it.
24 is not perfect by any means but it is a show that has impacted TV, politics and how America views itself more than anything else on television.
Season 8 had it's hits a misses, another mole (which was nicely weaved into the story, which explained it more in depth) as miss but Jack finally snapping and straying from the norm was fun to watch and that in my book is a hit. Though it drives me crazy when people are obsessed about the damn guy in vent of CTU, it's been 10 hours tops and he isn't going to smell by then and NO no every little thing has to be delt with. If you can't use your own mind to think of the obvious then I don't know what to tell you except stop watching shows like this and start watching a show that spoon feeds you everything.
When it's all said and done season 8 of 24 was pretty damn good. They sat down and told a story and didn't worry about having twists and turns. The writers listen to the fans and they give us what we want and if the show isn't good, then we're a bit at fault as well.
You make us wait until January for 24 to come on, then you tell us the show will end this season. If the Writers are losing their creative juices, then move them out of the way and bring in some new, young, fresh writers so that we can keep 24 going. This is not fair. This is the only show on television that I schedule my appointments around. Please do something to keep Jack & company on the air.
24 is the best TV show ever. Even though I agree with the writer's struggle, I felt sorry for the delay on day 7. Let's wait a few more months for the film. I bet it will be worth the wait. Jack Bauer rules!
Fox is working on a 24 prequel 2 hour TV movie that will air this fall ( winter ) The movie is designed to bridge the two-year gap between Seasons 6 and 7, is targeted to air in the fall, leading to the show's January return.
are we talking about breath-taking events, no sh*t desparate measures, and totally unpredictable twists? then we're talking about 24. this tv series will show you how much life can change within 24 hours. the chain of events will make you grab your seats and make you want to stay there for the rest of the day.
