How I Met Your Mother (2005 - Present): Review By Iyasu13

I must start by saying How I Met Your Mother season 1 is great. The characters are likable and the jokes are good. The pineapple incident remains one of my favorite episodes in any show of all time. That being said.....

Starting with season 2, it just goes downhill. Season 2 was ok, but season 3 was just mediocre, seasons 4-current, kinda lame. There is an occasional episode that reminds me of season 1, but they are so rare. I realize this isn't LOST or anything, but there are so many obvious plot holes. In one season (2 I think) Barney can't drive and refuses to learn. 2-3 seasons later, he is flying down the highway so he can try to talk his way out of a ticket. It was a fine way to waste a few minutes, but when did he learn to drive. I have been tempted to find out where the office for this show is and mail them a copy of season 1 with a note that says "Remember This?, This WAS Good TV"

Another problem is there is character development and then there is changing their very nature. Barney no longer says suit up, no high fives, and apparently all of his conquests may or may not be stories that he makes up because the real endings sucked. And we seriously need to play "have you met Ted?" again.

I will watch until the show ends with hope that it will redeem itself, but I'm not holding my breath.
