The Simpsons
The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom which was created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. It is a satirical parody of the middle class American lifestyle epitomized by its titular family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield, and it lampoons many aspects of the human condition, as well as American culture, society as a whole, and television itself.

    Of course The Simpsons is THE comedy satire of the last 2-3 decades. Just as The Fkinstones did in a much more naive age, The Simpsons takes on society, politics, referentials (you better know The Twilight Zone!) and just plain hypocrisy. Crap that followed and was seeking the dumb end of the audience like The Family Guy, American Dad and even Futurama were like comparing Tolstoy to Barbara Cartland or Dallas. Probably only two other cartoons from this era had the courage to trailblaze: Spongebob Squarepants and Chowder. Both cartoons sought to criticise hunan foilbles, unlike the garbage copycapts like Family Guy and American Dad who like a college kids fantasiy humour were an extended series of fart jokes. If not for the overindulgence allowed Bobby Hill, King of the Hill could have made it forever, but the whining cheesy wimp child, quickly became irritating rather than humorous amd finally, yes, I AM Australian as seen from my spelling.
