30 Rock (2006 - Present): Review By TheStonedReviewer

30 Rock: All I need to tell you about this show that proves that it's good is it stars and is written by upcoming comedian/actress Tina Fey. You might know her from having played Sarah Palin in the 2008 Presidential election. Once Obama got into power we were all eager to know what would she do next, I for one hadn't noticed she had her on TV series on NBC and on Comedy Central in the UK.

30 Rock is brilliantly well thought out and the comedy is generally correct. The show is about the writers behind a small sketch show called The Girly Show, more commonly known as as TGS.

Tina Fey plays Liz Lemon and Alec Baldwin, that's right, the Alec Baldwin plays Jack Donaghy. The dynamic duo joined forces back in 2006 to create 4 years of genius comedy, and it still isn't over, 30 Rock is powering it's way through to it's 5th season that is set to air this November.

But here's my issue with the show, the cameo's, one in every few episodes is fine. They fit into the plot perfectly, but when it's every episode it makes the whole episode clotted and you start to get the feeling all these actors are just using the show to boost there reputation.

Loveable characters, my favourite, Tracy Morgan as Tracy Jordan is hilarious and slightly insane but fits the show perfectly and always get's a laugh with every witty remark. I don't see the show lasting more than 5 seasons. I don't even see how they are going to carry it on from the 4th, and for those who haven't seen the 4th series (Spoiler alert!)

This is the top Stoned Reviewers 4 stupid things they never should have ended the show with:

4) Jenna Maroney ends up with the Jenna Maroney impersonator, certainly an imaginative way to go but what makes Jenna, the character so perfect in the show is her constant mad way with men, now that she's actually got someone I just see her growing dull in the 5th series.

3) Jack ends up with Avery Jessup which was lazy plot writing, it was incredibly badly plotted out, and totally unrealistic, Avery, the guys got to be twice your age, you never should have broken up with JD in scrubs, he was perfectly age appropriate for you. But that's another show that has already been reviewed.

2) They kill off Keneth! He get's fired on the very last episode, a bit of warning please!?

Kenneth was a great character, when everyone else in the show was being a jerk you admired Kenneth for holding everybody together, I'll see how they are going to cope without him.

1) Now this is the worst thing they did, Liz Lemon and Matt Damon hooked up and are getting married, in literally the last 10 minutes of the show, plus Matt Damon and Liz Lemon, has the world gone mad, surely there completely different in real life.

And Matt Damon's career is far too successful to be a recurring character in 30 Rock, he is in everything at the moment, now when I watch 30 Rock I know I'm not watching whatever Matt Damon's character is called, I'm just watching Matt Damon in a pilot's uniform.

But with all the criticism I've given it which are really only 2 things that I've blown up so much to seem like they matter there is so much great stuff in 30 Rock, the characters are excellent, every single one of them, none more than Tracy Jordan and the plots are brilliant especially that they often carry on from the last episode.

A great show, in my view the best TV sitcom on at the moment in the United States but I do not see it lasting much longer without it getting tiresome and repetitive.

I give 30 Rock 4.5 stoned stars.
