Scrubs (2001 - 2010): Review By TheStonedReviewer

Scrubs, I only found out what this meant in season 6

Scrubs: Zach Braff as JD and Sarah Chalke as Elliot fail to make off the same 10 year on going off going relationship as Ross and Rachel relationship that the show set out to do, it's tedious will they wont they, Friends did it they obviously will.

But this doesn't matter in a great quality sitcom such as this, what makes the show worth watching to me is the great variety of classic characters... John C. McGinley pulls off an ingenious role as Dr Cox. Neil Flynn as the Janitor is one of my most beloved sitcom characters of all time manages to wow me with lines as small as "You know what we need, a duck pond right here in the hospital" I still remember that.

And with a lot of great characters comes a lot of old bull characters: Elliot Reed started off the loveable nurse and got more and more tedious as the show went on, her parents were emotionally distant, who the hell cares, get it together woman!

For a comedy show there seems to be a very surprising amount of comedy, in that there is none, for every serious/sad moment there is and believe me there is a lot of sad/serious moments, there is one comedic line that almost always fails to deliver. Part of doing a sitcom in a hospital does involve a lot of depth not just comedy, but too much gets boring and you start to think your watching a drama.

I love Scrubs, it's not like other sitcoms at all, there is no studio audience, it's not shot on a cardboard set, it's shot in a real location which makes the whole show more realistic, I've watched it for 9 seasons and all 8 seasons are brilliant, season 9 was a mistake, they should have just excepted it was over, they never should have attempted it, it was too late for a new whole other cast, they were just not as likeable as the previous long running doctors and nurses who we had fallen in love with, I mean how can you make scrubs without Carla? I give Scrubs 4.5 stoned stars.
