@corey So in order for Clark to become Superman you feel that everyone around him except Lois and Lex need to die, even Martha? Sorry, can't agree with that.
@comicbookfan LOL, wow. So because I "joked" that I didn't care what you want and then proceeded to explain WHY I thought that (twice), you felt I was calling you out and got upset by it? 'Cuse me, but I think your bias is showing... Sorry for hitting a nerve.
"You know, most guys wouldn't complain if I suddenly found myself shirtless."
@lane1 No. It's because you make unnecessary comments to people. Especially those of us who are comic book fans or purists. You are constantly insulting comic fans by making "jokes" or more often than not arguing points against them or adding negative comments to them, simply because they know the characters or the universes. You have done this to me and others time and again. And I know a lot of people on here get offended by you because you do this. I have seen you say that you have never read comics, or admit that you do not know about comic books or their worlds, but yet you go on to state that you are the biggest Spider-Man fan, yet negatively comment anyone who says anything about Spidey's true source material, his roots, the comic. That is just an example, please don't take that to heart. I'm just saying.
I didn't see anything about your last comment to me that was a "joke." I saw you say that you didn't care about what I wanted. I didn't ask you. That's all I'm saying. Your comments come off as negative. You didn't hit a nerve. Though I am sure you have with many on this site. But you weren't even close with me. Sorry to disappoint...

It's not about whether or not a person knows the characters or the universe. It's about the illiogical and/or biased reasons they give to try and explain why they think the way they do about certain media/material. I'm sorry if you see my making jokes as "insulting to comic fans", but that's not what I'm trying to do and is never my intention. I think people mispercieve some of the things I say on here as "fact" or "truth" because they don't really know me and therefore take me too seriously. I've been guilty of the same thing at times so I can see where the confusion is.
"And I know a lot of people on here get offended by you because you do this."
Funny since usually people say I'M the one getting offended. Interesting to note. I'm sorry if you felt I was being offensive.

To be fair, most, if not all of those instances where I negatively comment on something about Spidey's true origins has been about the films. It has nothing to do with the comics. If you want to argue the Spider-Man origins, that's fine. But with all due respect, when I see people negatively commenting on the films for not having the "true origins", that's when I jump in, albeit, in a negative way. I'm just being passionate about a character I love in the same way that you are, CBF. I don't feel I need to read the comics to be, and let me correct you here: ONE of the biggest Spider-Man fans out there. I can love the character, enjoy the films and the cartoons without having ever read the comics, but whenever I try to explain why I feel the way I do, I get crucified for it? Forgive me, but I'm not a teenager anymore. I missed my chance to read the comics when I was younger, and no matter how much I'd like to, I'm too old to start doing so now. If that doesn't make me qualified to be one of the biggest Spider-Man fans out there, then I'm sorry to disappoint you. It's not like I'm trying to be anyone's enemy here, but just like you, I have every right to say what I think AND defend my views and beliefs. So when I go into a detailed explanation of why I feel that way and all you come back with is a sentence or two of which you were now admittedly offended by me, do you really expect me to reply any other way than I did?
"I didn't see anything about your last comment to me that was a "joke." I saw you say that you didn't care about what I wanted. I didn't ask you. That's all I'm saying. Your comments come off as negative."
Okay, let me explain something -- When I put a ":P" (stick out tongue) face after something I say, that usually implies JOKE. So when you say you "didn't see anything about my last comment that was a joke" I find that really hard to believe. That coupled with the fact that you got offended by it tells me everything I need to know. Again, there was nothing negative about the comment, I was just giving my opinion (and a pretty valid and in depth one at that). I could've just as easily tagged you in my more detailed explanation of why I thought Chloe should live, but I figured I'd give you the common courtesy of letting you reply to my first comment before flooding your inbox.
Now, when you said "That is just an example, please don't take it to heart. I'm just saying", I hope you didn't percieve anything I said here as taking it to heart, but just explaining my views. Because that's what I always try to do, whether negatively or not. Sometimes, I might get a little angry, become unbalanced, and REACT in a negative way, and that is definitely unnecessary. But I don't believe that I'm ever going out of my way to make "unnecessary comments to people." I'm not out to get anybody here. That said, I'm going to refrain from giving "just an example" as to why I initially replied to you in the way I did, as that would be both unnecessary and immature. Because I don't know you, I'd rather not make the same judgements and assumptions that you made about me. In the future, I prefer to have intelligent conversations without people accusing me of doing or saying something I'm not everywhere I turn. I hope that's not too much to ask.
"You know, most guys wouldn't complain if I suddenly found myself shirtless."
@ejk1 I'm gonna see if I can get on. I'll be down and ready for an epic conversation on the finale. I'm ordering chinese food tomorrow night, kicking back with my Uncle and watching it.
@lane1 I didn't mean to be judgmental, my bad. I guess I just haven't spoke to you in a long time and I misunderstood your comment. I must have overlooked the :-p and remembered some of the past conversations we've had about comics vs. films and X-Files, that sort of thing. I didn't mean to get all jumpy on ya, sorry.
@jptheredskull that's a good point about the time zones. I'm est, but others aren't. oh well, if you are not in est, chime in whenever you finish the show. I for one will try to stay on here until everyone has a chance to see the show, and we can have a nice chats about it.
It all ends tonight! 8pm won't come any slower! I'm Eastern time, as well. Chat with you guys at 10! This is now the most dedicated Smallville forum. Lets keep it alive for as long as possible, fellas. :D
@corey I'm gonna create a new forum for after the finale so that as we all finish seeing the finale, we can get on and join the discussion. We should do it this because were not all in the same time zone so. this forum should be for discussions before the show only. We could make forums for during the show for every time zone but that would be to complicated.
@jptheredskull I can create the forum right now, mention everyone and tell them to be on here at 10PM if you'd like. I it's alright with you, I'd like to be the creator of the forum since I started this one.
@jptheredskull :P Our avatars do make us enemies. lol. Anyways, I'm one step ahead of everyone. I've even started my EPIC finale review which I plan on being a good 15 paragraphs. Hopefully I can be the first to post it up. :)
