Just when you think that's there is no way the creative force behind Dexter could even come close to the massiveness of the second season, season 3 kicks in, dabbles in season 2 for a moment, the goes into overdrive, full steam ahead.

Dexter is safe, for the time being. And just when you start to sink into the "hope" that Dexter might fully realize a normal life and leave behind the monster that lies inside, things go awry yet again, but this time the scale is a bit disproportionate, and Dexter faces some new challenges you never thought (and from the looks of it, he never thought) possible.

Without giving anything away, I will say this. Dexter has a new friend, and we all know the closer anyone gets to him, the more dangerous they become for him (think Sgt. Doaks as Dexter's "good buddy" but still in the position of trying to catch him as a killer). This makes things very interesting, especially, and considering all this guy has been through, it's enjoying to watch him squirm a bit at the idea of actually having a friend and actually trusting someone.

That said, the setup is fantastic and this in only going to end very, very horribly wrong. And that's what we're counting on. This promises to be the best season yet. Dexter is evolving, and so is his brilliant show.
