BEING HUMAN finally returns with its second season! After such an epic first year, one can only hope season two turns out just as epic! After just one episode, I'm concerned it will...

I'm not here to review the series as a whole though. I have a review for that already (Although I do wish I waited for the series finale to post that). Monday night, Being Human finally returned with its second season after months of a long break. The only thing that truly sucks about season shows is that when they end it takes a long time for a new season to start. I assume Being Human will only ever run from January to April, which isn't too long considering viewers have to wait from April all the way to the New Year for the next season to begin.
BUT, alas-the wait is finally over! Being Human has finally begun its second-season and boy oh boy can I not wait to see what it has in store for us! Season one was one of the best first seasons to a series I've seen in a long, long time! If there is anything this show is great at, it's telling an awesome story-arc through excellent characters! Last season, we were able to witness the issues these three characters (The vampire, the werewolf, and the ghost) faced through their supernatural struggles.
Aiden, the vampire of the household, struggled to deal with an old friend-a dictator to the vampires of Boston who couldn't think toward the idea of letting Aiden go. Aiden wanted to be free; he wanted to be human and not be tempted by human blood. Josh, the werewolf, probably struggled the most. He had a life, a beautiful wife, and even studied to become a doctor at MIT. When he was cursed with becoming a werewolf, he had to let everything go and watch his cope from all that in season one. Then there was Sally, the ghost, who learned to understand the laws of a spirit. Stuck in the place of her death, where she soon discovers was a murder, Sally awaits her door to the afterlife...but something was holding her back.
Season two is opening up plenty of new doors for the series-No, not Sally's! With Season one concluding with Aiden murdering Bishop, he is now lost in a position where he feels responsible for all the other vampires. Aiden is stuck in a position he doesn't want to be in, and it may even destroy the person he's worked so hard at becoming the last few years of his "vampire" life. Josh, on the other hand, is seemingly doing much better. He's dating a woman who knows all about his werewolf nature after her shocking discovery last season. But, when she is threatened with the mark of the wolf, she hides it from Josh. When a full moon rises, and Josh is soon to learn the truth, he'll have to face an issue this season that he tried desperately to prevent from happening last year.
Sally, I must admit, had a pretty weak opening in the season. She attends her high-school reunion hoping to hear her classmates discussing her death and how great a person she was and how much they miss her. There, Sally speaks with a young classmate who committed suicide his junior year. The two share a deep, emotional scene together that definitely pans how Sally's journey this season may or may not go, but up until the episode's last few moments did I actually get an idea of where the season was taking Sally. When Sally learns she has the ability to "dream", she finds herself in a nightmare almost unbearable.
The three characters are definitely in for quite a season. Last season was dark, exotic, and damn addicting. It was hard to not keep away from the show! Being Human's second season has opened quite well; as of right now I can't say the season has expanded my attention as much as last season. The first season, literally, the last seven or eight episodes were all 5/5 star worthy! The show kept me hooked and the story-arc got really intense around its fourth episode. I'm hoping season two is able to do the same around that time, if not sooner. I can say that the story-arc is shaping up to be cool and worthy. Let's just hope this season can live up to such an epic first season!
