The finale has already come and gone in an instant. With the finale being part 2 of 2, Sunny had lots of ground to cover while also having to fill the episode with tons of laughs. So how did Sunny do? Sadly, the finale didn't quiet fulfill the second part of its agenda, which makes this finale all the more disappointing.

The finale starts off with Dennis hatching a plan to reestablish himself as the god we've all come to think he is. Meanwhile, Charlie, Mac, Frank and Dee (kind of) start plotting their revenge. But as always, the Gang is just so unsuccessful in every thing they do. But this time around, it's actually kind of sad to see them fail so miserably. It's one thing when they're adults and their immature actions get them nowhere. But this is past and present all at the same time. I felt bad for all of the Gang.

What's great about this finale is that it introduced even more story lines not already mentioned in the first one. From Fatty McGoo to Dee's back brace, even an assh*le tearing like tissue paper, it's all their. There's even that random guest appearance at the very end. These are all great memories, but I think that's what this finale's downfall was.

These last two episodes are all together the reliving of Sunny's story-lines with greater detail, and that's what drives the comedy down to the ground here. Yes, I love thinking about Brad Fisher's hornet stings, and how Dennis is easily broken by knowing that someone else slept with his prom date, but these are things we've known for a while now. They may get a chuckle now, but everything in this episode has already been explored: the back brace, Mac getting fat, even the dance number! Although the twist had a nice pay off, I only found myself smiling, not laughing. Nothing new was brought to the table. The major difference between Part 1 was that new things were explored, as to where Part 2 is just everything we already know.

Not even the acting this time got to me. Mac really had his moments here as to where in Part 1 he merely did nothing, but no one else popped. Dennis let's loose (like in The Gang Reignites The Rivalry) and Dee's, well, Dee, only not as funny. Once again, I've seen all this. Show me something new.

Overall, "The High School Reunion Part 2: The Gang's Revenge" is just a scrap-up of Sunny's minor-ly mentioned story lines that are barely explored. There's too much of nothing going on to make me really care for any of the reunion. It's a "the Gang's awful, no one likes them, they get screwed over" episode. I think what makes this even more disappointing though is the fact that this was used as a finale in Season 7. This is an episode that definitely should have been stored for later use, like, near the end use.

@SpaceCowboy Here's the thing with me and Sunny: When I think about it in my head or in conversation I always think of how great it is, how much fun it must be to write and film, etc. But what's actually presented to us, really only lately, just hasn't sat well with me.

@ROFLitschristian 7 was actually a pretty good season and almost on par with season 3 for me. But I've been losing faith since the start of season 5. I can't say I'm looking forward to another season, but I guess we have 2 more years of Sunny so let's just try to sit back and enjoy the show.

@SpaceCowboy I KNOW RIGHT! Last night hit me hard. Season 7 blows Season 6 out of the water, but it's not enough power to regain my trust. It's pains me to say, but I'm starting to loose faith in Sunny.

@ROFLitschristian I thought it had fairly funny moments, I do agree with you on this review. I think the episode would have worked as a combined 2-part one hour season finale in my opinion :)
