This is THE 100th episode of House, and it really does a good job of tying up loose ends. Ironically, the show's 100th episode doesn't feature two stars: Jennifer Morrison as Cameron and Jesse Spencer as Chase. Doesn't matter. At first I thought it was odd, but I got over it. Why? Because there was a hell of a lot more going on this episode than to worry about Cameron or Chase. We got to see some development of recent characters, like Olivia Wilde's Thirteen and Peter Jacobson's Taub, and even old characters like Wilson, who is persuaded to move on with his wife after the death of his girlfriend. It was a great episode, and it even seemed as though House were celebrating the milestone event because he didn't let up on the quick wit once.
The episode's big story focuses on Omar Epps's Foreman and Thirteen, who've started a relationship. Foreman took Thirteen off the placebo last episode and gave her the real stuff. Everything seems fine until the side effects kick in: numbness, loss of peripheral vision, and eventually blindness. Meanwhile, the team is helping a patient named Dana Miller(Judith Scott), a cancer researcher who quit her career because none of it seemed like enough. She wasn't happy, even if she was on the verge of finding a cure for a certain disease. Also, Cuddy begins torturing House for making her leave her baby everyday to work at the hospital. This offered some amusing scenes, but House doesn't lash out, feeling "the only way to win is to lose."
Miller gives the doctors great insight into their personal lives and it offers some good character scenes with Wilson and Taub. Wilson has been living in his dead girlfriend's apartment, and decides to finally wash the lipstick-marked mug that has been sitting on the counter, ushering in a "new age" so-to-speak, for Wilson. Taub hammers his wife about having kids, because she doesn't want any. In the end, he realizes he wants kids...but he wants his wife even more...AWWW.
I thought the entire episode flowed very nicely. It offered character development, and some great lines from the title character. Foreman keeps his job, they find out what's wrong with Miller, Thirteen pulls through...everyone lives happily ever after...until next episode. Overall, it was a great 100th episode for a great show.
