The first guest should be a bigger star or at least someone really funny..

Will Ferrel has the same mimics and the same jokes for a long time now and its no more funny since years. He is painfully mediocre and the harder he tries, more pathetic it looks. Even the previews of his movies are boring. I think he was a huge mistake as a first guest and he definitely effected the success of the first show in a negative way.

    You're right about Ferrel, I think it's just the fact that him and O'Brien have been friends for so long. When he started to sing that awful song Conan went straight to commercial. Ferrel was absolutely horrible in Step Brothers and ever since I am no longer a fan of his. However, I have been a die-hard Late Night with Conan O'Brien fan forever and now I am excited at the revamp of The Tonight Show and Conan's new primetime slot and status. He is a great writer and I expect more comedy in future episodes.
