'Transformers 5', 'G.I. Joe 3' and 'Star Trek 3' Are Coming in 2016

Paramount Pictures announced its 2016 line-up of films today, which includes 'Beverly Hills Cop 4', 'Hansel and Gretel 2' and a remake of 'Ben Hur'.

The CineEurope conference is currently happening in Spain, where Paramount Pictures International svp, EMEA Edward Ryan announced the impending Paramount release slate for both 2015 and 2016.

While we knew that some of these film's were heading our way soon, it came as a surprise that Transformers 5 was announced for 2016, when it was previously set for release in 2017. This new announcement also confirms that G.I. Joe 3 will be in theaters the same year, and is not being delayed as some had previously thought. Though Paranormal Activity 5 is being pushed back even further than originally planned, from 2013 all the way to 2016. Both 2015 and 2016 promise to be big years for Paramount.

Here is what they have set up at this time (the schedule is subject to change):

Paramount Release Slate 2015

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water 3D

Hot Tub Time Machine 2

The Gambler

Project Almanac

Friday the 13th

Mission: Impossible 5

Paramount Release Slate 2016

Transformers 5

G.I. Joe 3

Star Trek 3

Paranormal Activity 5

Beverly Hills Cop 4

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2

While at CineEurope, Paramount showed Transformers: Age of Extinction in lieu of its world premier in Hong Kong tomorrow. They also brought a ReadD 3D clip from Hercules starring Dwayne Johnson, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star Megan Fox introduced new footage via a special video taped message. The scene shown sets up April O'Neil's first meeting with the four mutant turtle brothers. A sizzle reel for producer Michael Bay's found footage time travel thriller Project Almanac was also screened.

Transformers 5 comes to theaters in 2016 and stars Mark Wahlberg. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

G.I. Joe 3 comes to theaters in 2016 and stars Dwayne Johnson.

Star Trek 3 comes to theaters in 2016.

@Nick-Lee-37515083: Welcome to Movieweb. I wasn't being a dick in my very first comment that you might not have read. I was just stating my opinion like anyone else. OBS just could have ignored my comments, but he decided to tag me with his insulting comments while is the usual sort of comments he post on MW, so I briefly got involved with him and learned from his comments that is is a bully, and hypocritical dick. If from my comments you think I'm a dick or wrong that is your opinion and that's fine, but of course you're new here.

@john-m To be fair, you are at fault here. OBS simply made a statement about these movies and you jumped on him with a negative comment. This entire little feud of yours started because you felt the need to hash in on someone else's excitement. Don't be a dick.

@ashesfend I really don't understand the negativism of people like you. To put it simply, movies are a privilege, people make movies for us. for me and you, some we like and some we don't. Why do you bother coming onto these pages to find out information about up coming movies if you are just going to rant on them? Do you really have that little going on in your life you need to scream at others over the internet that "THEY ARE GOING TO RUIN THESE MOVIES!!!"? Personally, I am not looking forward to HTTM2 as I am not really into stupid comedy (by which I mean, comedy that is funny from stupid acts - f*cking your best friends sister to save the kid who you didn't like who turns out to be your son) as for PA5 I think it could be interesting, the first was a touch revolutionary, it was horror in a new way, it was more realistic, more grounded. I could go on about each movie but my point is, either they are good or not, either you like them or you don't, but don't try to make yourself feel important just by throwing what's on your mind onto the internet, not everyone is going to agree with you, a lot of people like these movies and a lot of people are excited for these movies. In a world where hollywood is dominated by big budget superhero movies, starting a new franchise or making a one off film is hard, really hard. Enjoy what you are given and stop being a negative jerk, it really helps no one.

It is a crappy line-up. Nothing but reboots and sequels, and two movies possibly original. I'll watch Friday the 13th and Terminator to see what they change (how badly they'll ruin their stuff) but it's hardly exciting at all on this list.
How can anyone be looking forward to most of these? Hot Tub Time Machine scored a sequel as well as Hansel and Gretel, that's sad... Paranormal Activity 5? How can anyone look forward to that??
"Hopefully the delys to PA5 will result in something spectacular come 2016."
SPOLIER ALERT: It's going to be the exact same mini-budget trash the last four movies were. And if you actually think Paranormal Activity 5 is destined for greatness due to delays, you are part of the problem. Stop wasting your money on sh*tty "horror" movies.

Lol what?? How am I a hypocrite? Do you hear yourself? Just admit you were in the wrong.
Resorting to name calling when you know you're wrong. Typical. Later, couldn't care less about you ignoring me. @john-m

@ObiWanShinobi : No you're just a *sshole and a hypocritical dick, but at least from your comments I've decided to just decided to stop deal with you in ignoring, and responding to your posts, so this will be the last time I tag you or respond to you for a long time. Sadly MW is full of users like you, and certainly isn't the fun site it once was when I first joined. Goodbye.

I never said that. Re read what I typed. I asked why would anyone care about what you had to say, (the same way you rudely asked why you should care when I told you something) not that you couldn't comment. No hypocrisy over here. You're just lacking reading comprehension skills.

Using your logic, you're comment had nothing to do w/ the article. The article gave a list of titles being released. It didn't ask about what you were anticipating. Imagine if MW asked "& I care why?", after they saw your comment, just like you did w/ mine since apparently it had nothing to do w/ yours. You'd be offended right? @john-m

@ObiWanShinobi : Really? You don't think a comment section below articles is for people to give their opinion? That's hypocritical of you since you feel like giving your opinion on virtually every article on MW. That's why sites like Movieweb.com and Comicbookmovie.com have comment sections below their articles for people to comment and give their opinion on things.

You should look in the mirror when you say I act like I'm above everyone else when you that one nearly every article on MW, and that's why I'm always hesitant to deal with you, so stop being a hypocritical dick.

I responded to your comment the same way you responded to this very article. Nobody asked about what you were anticipating just like nobody asked if those movies were bankable

Just be nicer & stop trying to act like your above everybody bro. @john-m

You did comment on them. You commented about them being crap films. Then I said they'll still make $$ anyway. Then you responded rude & snobby as f*ck.
"Many average to bad films make a ton of money, like Hot Tub Time Machine 2, G.I. Joe 3 and Transformers 5. I don't have to know anything about the films to know they'll most likely be bad films, and still make money. " Your reply could of been along the lines of this, but politer.

& We should care about the films you're anticipating because? The article stated what movies were being released, it didn't ask what you were anticipating. @john-m

@ObiWanShinobi : If I had cared about the other films I would have commented on them, and wasn't debating anything just saying which films I was interested in and was most likely going to see. You're the one that decided to bring me into this by mentioning me in your comment, so fine if you want me to get involved I will.

Like your comment that all the films above will make "bank". Again who cares about that. Many average to bad films make a ton of money, like Hot Tub Time Machine 2, G.I. Joe 3 and Transformers 5. I don't have to know anything about the films to know they'll most likely be bad films, and still make money.

Just because many of these films will make quote-un-quote bank has nothing to with the comment I made, and again I should care about how much money these other films will or won't make because?

Oh, you don't care about anything movie related even though you're commenting on a movie website? My bad, forgot that people on this site just like to comment their opinions then get offended when someone calls them out on it. If you have an opinion & don't want to have a friendly discussion without responding like a defensive dbag, then keep it to yourself bro! Anything put in a public forum, like the internet, is up for any form of debate. @john-m

Well that certainly is a crap line up by Paramount Pictures. As of right now there are only three films on their slate that I have any interest in seeing at all in Mission Impossible 5, Terminator, and Star Trek 3, and just maybe the remake of the classic Ben-Hur when I learn more about the film.
