‘Transformers 4’ Will Feature New Robot Redesigns and New Cast

Michael Bay claims that this sequel will be his last ‘Transformers’ movie ever, setting up the franchise for someone else.

Back in February, we reported that Michael Bay will return to direct Transformers 4, after the filmmaker revealed in December that he was unsure about making another Transformers movie. Today we have word that the this new installment will in fact be his last, and will feature new transformer designs.

Here's an excerpt from a recent article.

"The director, by the way, says that the fourth film will include some redesign of the robots and an entirely new cast. He also said it will be his last and set the franchise up 'for the next guy.'"

This confirms what Josh Duhamel revealed in February, that the sequel will feature an all new cast, with none of the actors from Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, or last year's Transformers: Dark of the Moon returning. Ehren Kruger is writing the screenplay, although no story details have been given yet.

It isn't known when production will begin, although Paramount has set a June 29, 2014 release date.

Transformers: Age of Extinction was released June 27th, 2014 and stars Nicola Peltz, Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, T.J. Miller, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Jack Reynor. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

Dont care what they look like as long as they keep them close to the orginial characters themselves and yes it would be nice if paramount would offer Rosie Hungition Whitley a chance to come back for Transformers 4

@steph-x Well if anything, they're changing the way they look for the fourth movie, because of them all looking the same in the previous three movies. I guess they want to do something new, when it comes to having to with what they look like, which is fine by me honestly. I'd like to see some redesigns on the Autobots and Decepticons.

@hooky89 It will make enough difference if they look very different, then they did before in the previous movies.

@sean yeah but they looked cool the way they did, i agree with @hooky89 i dont see the point in it lol, they can change the cast all they like but the transformers were fine the way they are x

@sean oh understand that, but i dont think it will make enough of a difference to justify them doing it , thats all. to me its pointless .. whats wrong with simply making a fourth movie

@hooky89 It will make a difference. Since this involves redisigns, the Autobots and Decepticons are not going to look the same as they did before.

@steph-x Yeah, but this is about redisigns, they're not fixing anything.

not too happy about this really because its still going to have the same feel and style .. so to me , whats the efing point in changing cast and re-designs when really it aint going to make a difference..

@sean yeah i guess lol but my motto is if it aint broke dont try to fix it, i'll still watch none the less lol x

@steph-x Yes, but Transformers 4 will have a whole new cast and new redisigns for the Autobots and Decepticons. Maybe they will make the Decepticons and Autobots look even better in Transformers 4, then they did in the previous Transformers movies. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

@ejk1 A story/plot that would take place 30 years or so after the first trilogy? That would be pretty interesting.

My guess is that it will take place thirty or so years after the first trilogy. That's the only logical way to remove Sam Witwicky's presence. He'd be too old to help them.

@Michael-Kolesik I don't see why they wouldn't. I'm curious though, to see who the cast will be, that does the voices for the Autobots and Decepticons and the regular actors and actresses that will be starring in Transformers 4. But, yeah, i know what you mean about there being no in-between.

    3 years agoby @themoviefanaticFlag

  21. Michael Kolesik

@themoviefanatic I really really hope they fix it. I really do. With how much Michael Bay is going to be changing, this is either going to be epicly better than the first three or horrifically worse. There will be no in-between.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Well, since for some reason 3D is like the discovery of water internationally, the trend is gonna continue

@Michael-Kolesik I mean that they are going to fix them in the next movie and probably even have new cast, which new cast being involved was mentioned in a previous article here on movieweb.

  24. Michael Kolesik

@themoviefanatic Do you mean that they are going to fix them in the next movie or be exactly the same as the first three?

  25. Sean

@Michael-Kolesik Those are all good points you made. All those thing you've just mentioned, are probably what they are planning on for Transformers 4.

  26. Michael Kolesik

@themoviefanatic how about being 90% robots and 10% humans like the show, rather than the other way around?

Or how about less slow-mo booty and titty shots from hollywood sluts?

Or how about decent actors that aren't retarded?

Or how about killing a character and keeping them dead?

Or how about an Allspark that's supposed to do what they say it's supposed to do?
Take your pick, man. There's millions of things they f***ed up in these movies.

@rjh094 -- Money, of course. Last year, "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" only made over a billion dollars worldwide. Why not make another when the audience viewership is that strong?
