'Transformers 4' Poster Reveals Official Title Is 'Age of Extinction'!

The Dinobots are hinted at in the first teaser poster for Michael Bay's upcoming franchise sequel, starring Mark Wahlberg.

Transformers 4 has an official title, and it is Transformers: Age of Extinction, as revealed on the first teaser poster, which includes the Decepticon insignia merged with a four, set against a desert landscape.

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction Poster

In 2009, we witnessed the Revenge of the Fallen, in 2011, we found ourselves in the Dark of the Moon. Now, we enter the Age of Extinction as director Michael Bay prepares to unleash the Dinobots onto theater screens for the first time ever, summer 2014.

The Transformers: Age of Extinction title hints at many story possibilities. It could be a direct reference to the Dinobots, or humanity could be on the brink of disaster, with the Autobots and Decepticons ready for an all-out war. It is known that this globetrotting adventure will feature Grimlock (Tyrannosaurus rex), Slag (Triceratops), Sludge (Apatosaurus), Snarl (Stegosaurus), Swoop (Pteranodon) and Paddles (Elasmosaurus) appearing alongside franchise newcomers Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, T.J. Miller and Sophia Myles.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently spoke about the inclusion of the Dinobots, which were confirmed last week.

"I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world's coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China's vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them."

Transformers: Age of Extinction is being shot in various cities throughout the United States, including Chicago (which was destroyed in the last film) and Detroit, as well as China. Aside from the inclusion of the Dinobots, no story details have been released at this time.

Transformers: Age of Extinction was released June 27th, 2014 and stars Nicola Peltz, Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, T.J. Miller, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Jack Reynor. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

@corey This will probably be the only time we see the 4 on the posters for this movie, since it's a teaser poster.

Hope this doesn't cross with JP4, by which it may also have a similar title, as Steven Spielberg is producing this movie.

@corey Same here. They'll probably keep it so people know it's a fourth Transformers movie. After that, it could be removed and "Age of Extinction" will be placed as a subtitle instead of being used as a tagline in this poster.

Speaking of the title, I remember how every movie that came out last year or so had "Rise" in it. Now with this and Age Of Ultron, I suspect movies will start to have "Age Of..." in their title now lol.

I remember when the teaser for transformers got me excited. (ya the teaser) or (very first trailer if you will)
it takes place on the moon or something and a space car (or whatever they're called) a roller i think.. zoomed in on something moving closer, and it was big, it (the roller) was able to capture 1 image not so clear because of the moon's sunlight,
Anyhow, that was a kickass teaser. but then watching these movies, its like blah. you killed the moment. lol.
I think part1 will forever be the best tf movie, ever made. great story. direction. plot, acting, everything.
2 and 3 was nothing but eye catching s/f, with very lil or pointless story. i think transformers 3 would of been a perfect for the the ending of transformers 1 rather than 2. which was a so/so movie.
Now with 4 on the way. lets hope it plays out like the first film did, get back to the story direction. but w/out sam, his parents, his 2 gfs (lol) who knows how this would lead to any of those 3.
it should just be considered a reboot.

@Billy-Talmadge-Roberts Yup. The first Dinobot appearance on the big screen. I remember, fondly, a mother dragging her son out of the theatre part way into the movie. Her son protesting, "Mom, all Spike said was, 'Oh, sh*t!'" :-)

Umm, not true. The Dinobots were in a the theaters before. I don't know about where you saw it, but the first time I saw the Transformers Movie (the cartoon), it was in the theater in my home town of Hobbs, NM. I don't know if that was a special screening or what, I was pretty young. But I do remember it being in the theaters because it was one of the first movies I ever went to watch at one.
