‘Transformers 4’ Brings China to Detroit in Latest Set Photos

Director Michael Bay and his crew are building their own Chinatown sets that will take up to a month to complete for this action-thriller.

Back in April, it was confirmed that director Michael Bay's franchise sequel Transformers 4 will bring the action to China, literally. But they're also bringing a taste of China to downtown Detroit. Over the weekend, photos emerged of the immense Chinese replica that the filmmaker and his crew are currently constructing from the ground up. These fully functioning sets are located in downtown Detroit near the United Artist Theater, and will take up to a month to complete. It isn't known how China ties into the story, but you can take a look at the construction as one culture mixes with another on the streets of Eastern America.

By request of the studio, these images have been removed.

Transformers: Age of Extinction was released June 27th, 2014 and stars Nicola Peltz, Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, T.J. Miller, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Jack Reynor. The film is directed by Michael Bay.
