Yeah, i think movie studios releasing their movies sooner, is a very smart move on their part, not just Marvel. Plus, most people would probably want to buy the movie sooner, rather then having to wait during the normal 5 to 7 month period of any movies, meaning the time between their theatrical release date to their dvd and Blu Ray release date. I for one, hate having to wait for 5 to 7 months for a movie to be released on Blu Ray, because that is around half a year to have to wait for it to be released to Blu Ray, which is just crazy in my opinion to have to wait that long for movie to be released on DVD and Blu Ray anyways. Also, I've noticed how movie studios are starting to release their movies on Blu Ray and DVD alot sooner, and quite honestly i hope it continues that way.

@themoviefanatic: Sort of, when compared with other Marvel films. "Iron Man" made around $525mil, and that was around $400mil in profits, whereas this was a hundred million less, so a 2wk difference between their dvd/blu-ray releases sounded right, considering that you'll notice films are coming out earlier and earlier now. I mean, "Captain America" seems like it was released just last week, and we're already just under 6wks away from its dvd/blu-ray release, and it made $316mil, minus the budget was even lower profits. Still high enough for Marvel (being its own studio) but they wanna release the dvd/blu-rays before people begin to forget the films or care about it less, as opposed to major hits like "Lord of the Rings" which drew in such high box office, that they dvds of the first two weren't released for 8 months. The higher the profit, the more fans love it, and the longer the wait between home media release, the more likely they'll be to rush out and buy it. However, if there are lower profits--like "Thor" & "Captain America"--then they'll tend to release them quicker before the buzz about them passes.

I might actually have to buy that 3D blu-ray just for the cover even though I promised that I would only buy a 3D TV strictly to watch Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 3D :)

@2movieguys Because getting a dvd copy along with the Blu Ray copy is convenient when you're already paying more than you would for just the dvd. And for the reasons @combatmadness360 stated.

And the speed of it coming to home entertainment format was pretty normal, so I don't get why you're freaking out. But then, I never understand anything you say....

@2movieguys i dont know, i like having it in both formats when i pay the extra cash for the blu ray. so then I can buy it on blu ray, but i could also bring the dvd with me like in the car or plane or something. i hate when it doesnt come with it actually.

WOW...this is quick ...didn't take along...September is not that far away ....what was the point of seeing it in theater!! ...Wait 2-3 months and it will be on DVD and cable!!

.....and why does the studios insist on a Blu-ray adn DVD combo!!??!? That is such a waste of money!!!
