‘The Master’ Gets Joshua Close and Fiona Dourif

Paul Thomas Anderson writes and directs this religious drama about a man who creates his own belief system after World War II, which explodes in popularity.

Director Paul Thomas Anderson has added two late additions to his cast of The Master, with Joshua Close and Fiona Dourif signing on.

The story centers on Philip Seymour Hoffman's character, a man known only as The Master who creates his own type of a religion, a belief structure which quickly gets a massive following. Joshua Close will play one of The Master's top followers, although it is not known what role Fiona Dourif has in the drama.

Paul Thomas Anderson is directing The Master from his own original screenplay. Production has already started on location in Sacramento.

The Master was released September 14th, 2012 and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Price Carson, Mike Howard, Sarah Shoshana David, Bruce Goodchild, Matt Hering, Dan Anderson, Andrew Koponen. The film is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
