Very Noir, stylish, this isn't just a remake, a replica as with the disastrous Let me in, this is David Finchers vision! great cast, Christopher Plummer, also a glimpse of Rooney Mara (alls revealed) is very appeasing. not in the general erotic sense, but that she's going full out and possibly more for this role and this story, not side lining it because of its not independent or foreign as the last trilogy!

If I had to see one film this year, it would be this one. I have yet to see the original-Swedish trilogy, but, I intend to. I honestly can't freaking wait for this!!

@dan1 couldn't have said it any better!!!

@comic-fan93 the first film is, in my opinion, the greatest foreign film of all time, and the sequel (haven't finished the third film yet) is f*cking great, right up until the last two seconds. and the first book was f*cking great too.

"The feel bad movie of Christmas" Haha, good try guys... Well, since Fincher's a far more accomplished director, this already looks better than the massively overrated, massively overhyped piece of "meh" that is the "Girl" trilogy. Still, definitely won't be in line for it.

Just watched the trailer again. The only thing that would make that more kick ass is seeing it in HD and not some sh*tty hand held camera.

Fincher used to come up with amazing and unique shots and
framing/composition, etc. I'm slightly disappointed a lot of those
shots in the teaser are so close to the Swedish film which wasn't that
    great either, despite the hype.
To be specific, I expected a complete overhaul of the Swedish adaption and for Fincher to put his own completely different stamp on the source material. This looks so close to (but still an improvement over) the Swedish film.

I've read all three books and watch all three Swish films. When I first heard of the remake, I though - Really! we don't need it. But since its David David Fincher doing it, I am sure he will not let us down. And watch that Trailer, I am happy to say; it looks like its gonna be damn good!

@haraldderhammer - The song is "Immigrant Song" its originally by Led Zeppelin. But in the Trailer - its covered by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross with Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs!)

  21. the Narrator

@vacaslocas, I know that you're a big fan of the original films, but from what little the trailer showed, what was bad about it? This teaser was just a showcase of the visuals the film would embody. A tease, nothing more, and a damn good one.

Are you just disliking this because the original is something dear to you and you see this remake as an evil, or do you honestly spot something off? Aside from the possibly difficult to handle music, I see little that can offend a fan of the originals, such as yourself, without bias.

@jimthar There is like a split second blip of Mara naked, and a little blood. I'd say that hardly qualifies for red band, too, but people are pussies these days.

  27. Jimthar

why exactly is this a "redband" trailer? i didn't see anything particularly over the top that would make it a more risque trailer than most others. the way it's edited together, you can barely focus on a frame long enough to see what exactly is going on anyway.

Does anyone know what the title of the song is they are using??? The sound editing is superb, and the song just fits perfectly.
