'The Flash' Adds Villains Professor Zoom and Killer Frost

The CW series brings two iconic DC Comics characters to its pilot, with Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker set to star.

The Flash is wasting no time in bringing fans what they want, as The CW lines up Danielle Panabaker (The Crazies, Piranha 3DD) and Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries) to play iconic DC Comics characters Killer Frost and Professor Zoom in the pilot.

Both villains will be introduced in the first episode, acting opposite star Grant Gustin as Dr. Barry Allen (aka The Flash). The series revolves around a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Arrow's Starling city to look into a series of unexplained robberies that have a connection to his past. He also gains super speed.

Rick Cosnett will play Detective Eddie Thawne, a transfer to the Central City Police Department whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret. In the comics, he is able to replicate the accident that gave Barry Allen his powers, himself gaining super-human speed to become Reverse-Flash.

Danielle Panabaker is Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs. In the comics, Snow turns into Killer Frost after a lab incident finds her body fusing with an engine's coolant system, as her biological makeup merges with ice. As a result, she becomes a vampiric villain who craves heat, and must kill to feed on body warmth.

While Grant Gustin has already appeared on Arrow, Barry Allen's transformation into The Flash was originally meant to be a backdoor pilot included as part of that hit CW show's Season 2 run. Now, The Flash is getting a regular pilot, which indicates that The CW is seriously considering a series pick-up for Fall 2014.

I guess if WB can't make a movie on our favorite DC characters at least they can give us great shows with the characters, then hopefully it will develop into a movie. If not, that is fine we get more of the character in stead of paying $11.00 for movie and getting just 2-2 1/2 hours, which would only be 3 shows. Just as in ARROW which is so much darker than SMALLVILLE, they both gave us the different allies and villains in the shows from the comics. I am looking forward to it. Now I just hope the new Wonder Woman movies go through. They have been trying to get this in the works for the last 20 years. My faith is being restored to the DC Universe.

I know I'm jumping ahead here, but it'd be cool if season 2 they jump into the 'time paradox' stuff. Correct me if this is wrong :)

The early 90's 'The Flash' series was brilliantly done. This says Thawne replicates Barry's accident, in the comics & is a detective. Not so. Thawne was a scientist, in the future who, used advanced science to copy the formula.

Cool. I liked her in Sky High & Grimm, and look forward to seeing her on Flash.

If they make this half as good as ARROW then it'll be a good show and they have started out on the right foot. Grant was awesome as Barry on ARROW and now Thawne and Killer Frost, I'm excited!
