@moviegeek - this is old news, but, thought I'd fyi you that yes, they are making sequels, but they are also releasing something original every year, too. This year, 3 originals. Next year, they will have 4 releases. 4, including HTTYD2 (and if you've seen the art, you'd swoon)! No studio has ever pumped out that many feature animated films in one year before. Dreamworks is setting records, man :P

The TWOods. I actually really liked The Croods. Some of the most beautiful animation I've seen. Pixar's definitely getting bogged down with sequels, but this is one series I think Dreamworks can actually pull off. As long as they don't get carried away and make a Madagascar 4.

@moviegeek since people loved this its safe to say they'll probably go see a sequel and right now I'm pretty sure all Dreamworks cares about is making money after the flop of Rise of the Guardians (which I still say only happened because they stupidly decided to open it the weekend after Breaking Dawn). I'm pretty sure they've had chances before but they never seem to take it. Instead they push out sequels, some good and some bad.

Dreamworks finally has the opportunity to get a big leg up on Pixar with original projects, and all they want is more sequels. They're missing an opportunity.
