Early in the month, there was an unconfirmed rumor that Marvel Studios had already shot a teaser trailer for their massive epic The Avengers, which will reveal that Tom Hiddleston's Loki from Thor is the main villain of this massive superhero ensemble.

Today, Tom Hiddleston has come forward to confirm that he has 'met' with director Joss Whedon, but he would not reveal what that meeting was about, or if he will, in fact, return as Loki for The Avengers.

Here is what he had to say.

"I met him actually, I met Joss when we were shooting Thor but I honestly don't know what his plans are. He's got a full plate. I'm sure."

The entire cast is keeping mum about the actual story details of The Avengers. It is rumored that this 'secret' teaser trailer will play this summer, either with Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, or, more likely, it will be revealed at Comic-Con 2011.

Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Thor was released May 6th, 2011 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings, Clark Gregg, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh.

@michael-routt Dude, you're still after Orange? It isn't like he's gonna stop doing articles any time soon, and the more you try to provoke a reaction out of him, the more Twilight and other nonsense articles we'll get.

@themime Yeah...that is what I've been saying for months. It makes the most sense because all the motivations and character introductions are already set up via the previous films.

The Mime forgot who came up with this but here it goes......story plot "Loki manipulated The Hulk and both end up bringing havoc upon the city and stuff like that"...

@b. Alan Orange He said he met the guy, it doesn't even seem like he was probed for information. Anything to publish an article I guess.

@shuabert Agreed. I've been saying that for months. Nothing too big in the first film, because the group dynamics need to be given time to gel, which would not happen against big time villains. Loki and Hydra are the way to go, in my opinion.

It's common sense for him to be the villain. You don't want to start too big and have to go into a lot of details setting up a new antagonist.
