The Asylum’s ‘Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies’ Poster

Filming begins in Savannah, Georgia on this latest mockbuster hoping to capitalize on the impending success of ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’.

The Asylum is at it again, and this time they hope to capitalize on the "assumed to be a hit" comedy horror smash-up Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with their own take on our 16th President titled Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies.

Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies is currently shooting in Savannah, Georgia, where the studio has received threats upon filming in the state. The production team received this cryptic email.

" I place the "Curse of Savannah" upon your head and may it follow you the rest of your life if you make this film here. You have been warned."

Here are some production photos from the film, which is expected to continue shooting through February 13th with this tagline:

""While the brutal Civil War rages on, Abraham Lincoln must undertake an even more daunting task; destroying the Confederate Undead!"

    Smart producers make their bread & butter from an international market of fans who crave movies like this. If you believe that "all film should be art", these movies are not for you.

    @bawnian-dexeus -- True, I guess. I just don't think I could live with myself if I were to be incorporated in a project like this.

    @Number1Wolverine -- Good point. I guess I'm spectating a little too much from my point of view. Because I, personally, don't think I could have anything to do with a movie like this. If I know I don't have a high budget, it's going to be a short and not based on Abraham Lincoln fighting off hordes of zombies.

    @Number1Wolverine Indeed.

    @XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Everyone starts somewhere, even if their first project, directing or acting, was total crap

    @XxNickTheFilmCriticXx - Lol at your comment to @bawnian-dexeus .

    @XxNickTheFilmCriticXx - It really depends, Hollywood is not the most friendliest place in the world when it comes to pursing an acting career. Friends are what gets you jobs, so this may be a terrible movie but it may lead to something better. Just look at some of the movies top starts were in before they got famous, Sylvester Stallone was making porn movies before he got his big break with Rocky. Jennifer Aniston was in Leprechaun, Johnny Depp first movie was Freddy "not saying that was bad" but you get the point.

    @Number1Wolverine -- True, but would you really want to be part of a movie that you suspect will turn out to be terrible?

    i heard there was a fire on the set and most of the props, sets and makeup were destroyed - which set the production back $6

    2012 the year of Abe Lincoln. Seriously there are like 3 movies with Lincoln as the main character announced for this year.

    You have to start somewhere with your first movie I guess.

    Most of their movies are terrible. But some of them are bad and good at the same time. Not so sure that this one will be one of those.

    In all the years this film has been talked about, this is the first time I've seen a picture of Lincoln attached to the project. Better late than never.

    If anyone is familiar with Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare, this is basically a rip off of it. Not Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter. That game is a post Civil War time, old west, cowboys with Zombie's. So only thing different, is Civil War time, addition of Ab. They might want to capitalize on the Ab Vampire Hunter movie, but this idea is more enclose with the game.

    From the comments bellow I think Asylum may have actually found a title close enough to the original to trick people into buying this crap.
