    @justatadmatt I think this will always be compared to Raimi's. The Amazing Spider-Man was good but Spider-Man (2002) was great. So far not as good as old films imo. Not to say im not a big fan of the new franchise because i am. For a title...meh i dont know they may just stay w/what they got like next one will most likely just be TASM 3.

    The only other things they could have gone with are the actual titles of the book series'. Sensational, Spectacular, Ultimate. They probably figured they didn't want to do that for 4-6 movies so why not just tack numbers on the ends.

    Spider-Man 2 already exists but not The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

    The Incredible Spiderman comes to mind, Battle of the clones, Reforming of a Spider, Sensational Spiderman. I could do this all day but I won't.

    @CoreyB When you suggest names like that, "2" is endlessly better. Haha. I was just thinking it would be better/more creative to have something different (i.e. The Dark Knight Trilogy lost the "Batman" after the first movie. Superman is "Man of Steel") ...If they wanted to lose the comparisons to Raimi's version, they should have gone for a more interesting title. Spider-Man 2 already exists.

    @felipe-11 exactly.

    @justatadmatt Yeah, it's always been the production title but I always figured they'd go with something more original for the final thing.

    I would've liked "The Spectacular Spider-Man".

    They'll probably change once they realized people are just gonna call it "Spider-Man 2" like Raimi's.

    @justatadmatt Pretty sure it is. That has been the title ever since production.

    Does anyone know if the title is officially "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"? That would be a tad disappointing.
