‘Terminator 5’ to Reunite Original Cast of ‘The Terminator’?

The title is also rumored to be ‘Terminator 2012’ for this new project from director Justin Lin.

Terminator 5 may star the original cast of The Terminator
One of the big news items last week was the revelation that Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his iconic Terminator character for Terminator 5 with director Justin Lin. A new report today indicates that the rest of the entire original cast of The Terminator will also star in Terminator 5.

While an insider wouldn't name specific names, it is believed that Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn will return as Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese in Terminator 5. The insider also claimed the title will be Terminator 2012.

Justin Lin is set to direct Terminator 5, which is currently seeking a screenwriter and a studio home. It isn't known if Terminator 5 will take place on the same timeline as the first four Terminator movies or not, mainly because a script hasn't even been started yet.

Our initial story from last week also indicated that the rights to The Terminator franchise will revert back to original director James Cameron if a new movie isn't put into production by 2018.

Terminator Genisys comes to theaters July 1st, 2015 and stars Emilia Clarke, J.K. Simmons, Jai Courtney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Smith, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, Douglas Smith. The film is directed by Alan Taylor.

I say, make it the "behind the scenes" in Terminator 2. In other-words, John captures the T-800 & sends it to protect him (John) in Terminator 2. Remember when John asked in Terminator 2 "Who sent you?" & he answered "You Did..." It's an obvious script I think.

I say make hime the human the machines used to model the T-800 after and what he has to go through being hunted by the humans to stop the design before it starts and hunted by the machines to protect him.....kind of a role reversal.

This is absolutely crazy since I have written a sequel to "The Thing", "Terminator 3" and "Clash of the Titans" (Before the horrific remake).......I am all for this movie and hope it receives an A+........if fate falls in my hands, then you can rest assured of a kick-ass sequel (No attitude intended).......

Yes, i think they likely have something creative up their sleeve for this movie.

Ummm, this is a bad idea. Everybody from the original film is well over 40. But who knows? Maybe they have something creative up their sleeve. But as of right now, this sounds like a bad idea.

Who do you think would likely play the role of that Terminator then ?

Yes, That would be cool. I'd like to see that.

I didn't say have more than one arnold. i said have more than one T-800 model. Arnold is the T-800 model 101. Maybe have th T-800 model 75 or something.

You think we'l see that cop from part2? i would love to see terminator vs that cop vs that girl from part3, ha kinda like freddy vs jason, hehe.

I hope we'll see him as bad as a bad Terminator as well.

that would be very weird if there were more then one "Arnold" Terminators at the sae time in a Terminator movie. Tht reminds me of Jack Sparrow seeing multiples of himself in Pirates 3, and that was just one of most weird things i've ever seen, although i know Pirates of the Caribbean and Temrinator are two totally different movie franchises, lol.

you know what can happen also? Schwarzenegger Can be a diff model in part5. Meaning, hes nothing like part1 2 or 3, didnt they mention this in part3? when he told john that he was a diff model, so everything he taught him in part2, was another robot. I really only have 1 big qestion to this, will he b a good guy or a bad.... im hoping for a bad.. we seen him good already.

if i could put these films in place they would be..."The Terminator", "T2", (Terminator 5) and "Terminator Salvation" As much as i enjoyed part3, sumthing seemed off.

I think him being a human general would work for his age in terminator 5. I wouldn't see him as a scientist or something. Maybe there can be a group of humans the T-800 series of terminators were based on and he's one of them. There are more than just arnolds t-800 model. Other T-800's would be cool. I thinkit all depends on who writes the script. If they hire someone smart with great ideas ok but if it's just some guys trying to copy the other terminators without something original forget it.

@jasonkat I am not sure what to think about t his but like i said below, if they are cyborgs, wouldnt the skin actually age? And if they do the time travel thing they could go back and save those that died and bring them into the future war which could explain their ages. I dont know...just trying to make sense of it all.

    Yes, good point.

  20. Err

i don't really want to see a 60 year old arniebot.

also, as one of the eight people in the world who enjoyed salvation i would like to see a sequel to that.

  21. Nawtnt

I am happy that Arine is back but the original cast returning in Terminator 5 that would only make sense if they ingore Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation didn't happen.

Those two movies were good but not up to the standard of the first one and Terminator 2 so they were awful somehow.

Now Fast and Furious 5 is breaking box office records and it is getting postivie reviews from the critics and the fans love it.

But I am not sure Justin Lin being the director of Terminator 5, Ridely Scott or John Hyams (Universal Soldier Regerenation) would have been great choices for the director but I wished James Cameron would have return.

yea i know he'll b back, he said so lol the only thing that matters at this point is that hes back So we need a good script. good plot/ending, and everything else will fall into place just fine!.

  24. Sean

Well it does say in the article above that Arnold is returning in Terminator 5, and so is the original cast so we shall see how that will all pan out. I think it's a good idea honestly as long as Arnold is up to returning, when the time comes for him to possibly be offered the role as The Terminator again.

As much as everybody loves Arnold , his "T" days r over. If he was professional about this, he would just skip watever plans he has and just get to the point already, the world ending and finish wat connor started or watever the ending may be. Not make another mid/card movir like t3. (even tho i liked that1). I think the whole terminator thing should b rebooted. A whole new (MUCH YOUNGER ) cast, and maybe arnold can just be sum1 random in this film, like maybe Kyle Reese who gets killed off and thats the end of Schwarzenegger, then the story will go on w/out him, meaning sum1 else needs to play the machine, not him. i would so love this movie if it was made like how i mentioned, above. they can even cope the same movie as they r 1-4 but w the same cast, and make em back to back like twilight, not leave dapts in between years, and b changing actors, then this would b a classic remake.

    4 years agoby @jasonkatFlag

Yes, it's a great series. I Hope the fifth movie will be as good as the first three movies, and not be anything like the fourth movie.

If the make a crappy, return to pre war time movie, it will suck..... They made the war, showed it being fought. Only direction it can take is forward to the time travel era from the first film. But all three main actors are to old to put on that story.

    4 years agoby @gandoffFlag

  29. Sean

Yes, i guess him playing the human version of the Terminator, that we've seen him as would work. Although, i wouldn't count on that being what they would do in Terminator 5, considering it could be something different.

@shuabert heh that deleted scene is funny beacuse of the voice overs they use. i am soooo glad they didnt use that in the film although the idea of him being a commander was clever.
