‘Ted 2’ Is Coming Summer of 2015

Universal Pictures positions this comedy sequel in the middle of a busy summer schedule. Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane return to star.

Ted 2 set for a summer 2015 release
Universal Pictures has announced a June 26, 2015 release date for Ted 2. The comedy sequel currently doesn't have any competition as of yet, but it falls just between Disney's Inside Out on June 19 and Paramount's Terminator 5 on July 1.

Writer-director Seth MacFarlane revealed in August that he was aiming for a Passover 2015 release date, which would have been April 3, 2015. Since the original Ted was the highest-grossing R-rated comedy in history, taking in $394 million worldwide, the summer release date makes more sense than a spring debut.

Mark Wahlberg is returning to star as John Bennett, with Seth MacFarlane providing the voice of his talking teddy bear, Ted. Seth MacFarlane is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

No story details have been confirmed as of yet. It is believed that production will begin next summer, after Seth MacFarlane's Western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West is released.

Ted 2 comes to theaters June 26th, 2015 and stars Liam Neeson, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth, Morgan Freeman, Seth MacFarlane, Lexi Atkins, Patrick Warburton. The film is directed by Seth MacFarlane.

@undeadslayer4 Well ya I love those films. The sardonic deconstruction of the super hero genre always has my attention but aside from that, your right. She was great in those. I mean I didn't even know who she was until Kick Ass 1 came out.

@undeadslayer4 Yes that was his first novel. I am not a fan of Carrie though. Never have been. I am giving the Chloe Moretz film a chance just for her and Moore but I don't have high hopes.

@undeadslayer4 The Shining was Stephen King's 4th novel I believe. I know it was one of his first 5 novels. Back when he was good at what he did...before he became so famous that he knew no matter what drivel he turned out people would flock too.

But ya the short answer is its based on a great book.

@undeadslayer4 funny you should mention the Shining. I am currently reading the novel (which I had read before many many years ago - but felt like revisiting the novel). It is much better than the movie from Kubrik (which is brilliant IMO. They are just two different beasts.

2015 will be insane for movies. I think they should just end the series after Ted 2. Seth should keep giving us original things!

The first one felt pretty complete....but Hollywood yet again is squeezing every thing until it's losing it's taste and becomes sorrow.

@undeadslayer4 hahah she does get nightmares.

But no, she isn't in to those types of supernatural romances. She is more interested in wedding movies and realistic dramas (some of which I can actually stand).

    She hates Twilight. surprisingly.

not sure how I turned this into a horror movie convo...Ted 2 of all places..

@undeadslayer4 My girlfriend hates horror movies but she lets me drag her along because I go watch all her movies. She hates horror and screams at everything. That or she hides her face in my lap (which is a great incentive for me ^^). Its so much fun for me.

For whatever reason my parents were very liberal when it came to movies. they were dragging me to horrors from the time I was 5 years old (I know that sounds like bad parenting but they always took time to explain what I was seeing). I really get my love of the arts from them and I will always appreciate that. More so I have a deep fondness for horror movies that most people do not.

Seeing someone die is generally not a funny event. But listening to my girlfriend whimper, scream then hide her face is an absolute blast for me.

I don't know what else to say.

@skywise sry my bad and its the same with me with brutal violence in movies i never have a reaction but i would only laugh if it was the scary movie franchise but i dont about u and horror movies and how u like them but i never seen people scream once when i saw sinister like the audience didnt do anything and the only thing ive heard from people who did scream was at the end of nightmare on elm street

    2 years agoby @undeadslayer4Flag

  28. skywise

@bawnian-dexeus When I watched The Strangers in theaters there were only about 8 people in the audience and one of them was a woman who screamed at EVERYTHING. I did not really get in to that movie so much but I had a blast in theaters just listening to this poor woman. I just couldn't help myself, it was hysterical.

I enjoy seeing, hearing etc. people really getting into a movie. Those movies you mentioned (Paranormal Activity) are garbage but being in a theater full of people who are really in the moment adds a huge amount of fun to the experience.
