Susannah White Directing ‘The Host’

Andrew Niccol is adapting ‘Twilight’ author Stephenie Meyer’s novel about unseen enemies that can take over a human being.

Susanna White (Nanny McPhee Returns) has been brought onto direct an adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer (Twilight) novel The Host.

Andrew Niccol (The Truman Show) adapted the novel, which centers on a young woman who discovers her body has become a host for an alien soul. Susanna White made her directorial debut with Nanny McPhee Returns last year.

The Host novel was published in 2008 and is Stephenie Meyer's first novel after the Twilight series concluded.

No production schedule was given for The Host.

The final chapters of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight franchise will hit theaters with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 on November 18 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 closing out the series on Novmeber 16, 2012.

The Host was released March 29th, 2013 and stars Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Rachel Roberts, Stephen Rider, Emily Browning, Jake Abel. The film is directed by Andrew Niccol.
