Stephen King's popular horror novel Cell was originally supposed to be adapted for the big screen by director Eli Roth. Now that Roth has dropped out of the project, it seems that Cell will become a television miniseries instead of a feature film.

According to Fangorai, director John Harrison, who adapted Clive Barker's Book of Blood, is currently writing a four hour telefilm based on the contents of the novel. The story finds America being transformed into a population of mindless, rampaging killers after a signal is sent through a series of cell phone networks. The project is currently being shopped to various channels.

At this time, Harrison is not set to direct Cell, but has stated that he would love to jump aboard the project if the opportunity arose.
