Stephen Amell Hints at Playing 'Arrow' in 'Justice League'

The actor posts a photo of an old Justice League comic book. Is he trying to tell us something, or just messing around?

In this age of social media, an actor simply can't post anything to his or her Facebook account without it being overanalyzed by scoop hungry fans. Case in point, Arrow star Stephen Amell has just posted a photo from an old comic book on his personal account, and now everyone is speculating that his character will crossover from the small screen to the big screen in Justice League. Take a look at his antique tease here.

Justice League

This probably means nothing. Or maybe it means everything. We can never be sure until a press release makes it official. Could the actor be starring in Justice League? Is he hinting at the producers that he is game for it? Are Warner Bros. and DC planning a small screen to big screen crossover?

This type of self-promotion worked in Vin Diesel's favor when he posted a photo of himself standing in front of an Avengers comic book while at the Marvel offices. He eventually went onto score the role of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy. On the other in of the spectrum, Simon Pegg innocently pointed to a photo of Ant-Man on his Twitter account, and within minutes, fans across the globe had him pegged to play the character. Which was not the case, nor was it the intention.

What do you think? Do you want to see the DC Universe merge its small screen and big screen properties the way Marvel has? Or is Stephen Amell too low rent for a major motion picture. Do we even want Green Arrow in Justice League?

Click Here! to see what Stephen Amell's fans have to say about the idea. At least he's getting the conversation started.

Justice League Part 1 comes to theaters November 11th, 2017 and stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

Look it up...I just did a search for it and even though the news was from 2008...there's still a few stories about it out there.

@mrchadlangen Tom Welling was never asked to play Superman in Superman Returns! Who told you that?

There's honestly nobody except Stephen Amell who deserves to have the big screen role of Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow. This would be like...4 years down the road. Amell's Green Arrow could have various things change between now and then that would make him more than capable of starring alongside the likes of Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman.

I didn't think they'd pick Amell to play the Green Arrow on the big screen either, but Tom Welling was originally asked to play Superman in Superman Returns. Anything is possible. I'm not sure how this is hinting at anything though. If he took a picture of a Victoria's Secret catalog, I guess that would mean he's hinting at modeling their new line of bras?

Justice League comes to theaters in 2017. In 2015 comes "Batman vs Superman" only.

@Jacob-Fredrick If they are going to spin off Justice League from MoS then he HAS to be part of that universe. what I meant was I don't think they should add him heavily in MoS2. A cameo? Yes, sure why not? But I would like to wait and see him brought in fully in later movies. MoS3 (whatever they will be calling it by then) or another franchise movie.

@skywise im not sure if its been confirmed but they said that arrow is part of the MoS series universe, similar to avengers and agents of shield.

I don't understand how GA couldn't work in the MoS Universe. They exist in the same universe in the comic books so why not the MoS universe?

I am not saying that I think he SHOULD be in the film (since like @ObiWanShinobi mentioned below, He is very much like a Batman character in many ways). A cameo or something of that nature would work IMO but as a major player? I would say bring him in later rather than sooner.

If true this could work very well. That is all I am saying for now.

He earned it. Why not. But he's not needed. He's useless in his own show. So I doubt he would do anything useful in a justice league movie

Great show, but wouldn't fit inside the Man of Steel universe.

Stephen Amell could be an interesting choice for the role as Arrow in Justice League. But, I never did think it would be Stephen Amell from the tv show, that would potentially play the same character in Justice League.

He's a great actor, and I'm really enjoying Arrow. So I'm totally down for this to happen, just as long as they take their time in Justice League and not rush it.

This Arrow would be no contribution to the Man of Steel universe. He'd get demolished and the storyline they created for this reimagining of Arrow is too much like Batman.

    Love the show though.
