Following the 7-minute extended preview released earlier this week, Lucasfilm and Disney XD have released a new clip from Star Wars Rebels, featuring a minor conflict between the pilot Hera (voiced by Vanessa Marshall) and Kanan (voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.), with the astro-mech droid Chopper caught in the middle.

This scene is actually from the first of four Star Wars Rebels shorts, entitled The Machine in the Ghost, which airs Monday, August 11 on Disney XD between 9:29 PM ET and 9:32 PM ET, after the latest episode of Gravity Falls. Three more shorts will follow on August 18, August 25 and September 1 before the series makes its official debut this October. Check out the clip below, then read on for more details from voice actress Vanessa Marshall.

When asked about Hera's leadership skills, Vanessa Marshall made it clear that this pilot is most definitely in charge of her ship, known as The Ghost.

"(Hera) calls the shots, because the Ghost is hers. She can definitely handle herself. She takes out TIE Fighters, no problem. Even on land, there are some scenes we've done where she beats the crap out of somebody. I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, she's so cool!' Yeah, she's just so badass. It's amazing."

As you can see in the clip above, there is most certainly some tension between Hera and Kanan. Here's what Vanessa Marshall had to say about the differences between these Rebels.

"He has Force sensitive abilities that a Twi'lek pilot just doesn't have. So she's sort of the brass tacks of the operation, and she can get them out of there -- the Han Solo, if you will, though I don't know about the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. [Laughs] I do think she's very adept in that sense, but she doesn't have a lightsaber. At the end of the day, Kanan's the Jedi. I think their relationship is balanced with a give and take of personal sacrifice."
