Way back in March of last year we reported that a new live-action TV series set in the Star Wars universe was moving forward. Now it seems that project is stalled once again. Comic Book Movie is reporting that George Lucas himself revealed the project was being put on hold. Here's what Lucas said about the in-limbo TV series:

"The live action TV show is kind of on hold because we have scripts, but we don't know how to do them."

"They literally are Star Wars, only we're going to have to try to do them at a tenth the cost. And it's a huge challenge, a lot bigger than what we thought it was gonna be."

The site reports that Lucas gave those quotes at a recent screening of Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. The series was said to take place between the films Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. However, we also reported back in April that a new animated TV series was moving forward, which will also be set in the time period between those two films.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with any news regarding any Star Wars TV series as soon as more information comes in.
