I wasn't a big Star Trek fan before the last movie and its alternate take on the franchise we'd all known it to be. It appears this is going to further propel me in the direction of becoming a solid fan. I only hope this is a franchise they can truly build upon much like the last.

I'm surprised there haven't been any comments pointing out the "Inception/BWONG" music yet.

@shuabert not only that did I find, but also the attention to character, and the initial edit of the trailer was very Lord of The Rings-ish.

really really excited for this sequel since 2009
J.J. Abrams is thankfully making more Star Trek movies we can all love
I reallly like that as a series continues on the challenges get bigger, the danger becomes more imminent and the characters face more than they have ever done
there's definitely gonna be some lost lives in this sequel
I'm very anxious to know who the villain is, too

I was thinking the same @narrator. It's very obvious that Kirk is going to loose SOMEONE, but who that person (or people) is is the obvious question. I personally hope it isn't Bones though, I rather liked that character in the first.

  26. the Narrator

Very interested in where Abrams is going with this. As a vocal Star Wars fan, it almost feels like he took some inspiration from the "Legacy" comics in terms of landscapes, and just an overall awesome feel. The emotional focus of the trailer is definitely on Kirk loosing one person or another, and I'm curious who we're going to loose in this journey. It would be predictable if it was Spock, so my bet is on either a newly introduced love interest or Bones McCoy. Regardless of everything, the man still knows how to tease. Great trailer, colorful cinematography, fantastic effects, and looks to still pack an emotional punch. Sign me up, Scotty.
