‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ 9-Minute IMAX Preview

We take a look at the first footage from Paramount Pictures and director J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sequel, in theaters this summer.

If you've seen The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in IMAX, you most likely also saw the first 9-minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness. This opening prologue gives us our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch's villain John Harrison, a man who promises to bring a sick child back to health. These dark moments quickly segue into a jaunty run through a bright red alien forest as Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), and Bones (Karl Urban) attempt to deactivate a volcano on the verge of eruption. It's full of stirring adventure and space action, something the original Star Trek wasn't known for. It's quite thrilling. If you don't want to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in theaters, you can watch the bootleg here. It involves a giant space ice cube and plenty of running.

Star Trek Into Darkness was released May 17th, 2013 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anton Yelchin. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

It's a bootleg, people. Meaning you get to deal with the audience and crappy video/audio. I would have thought this was old news to most of you, unless you've never seen bootlegs before. In which case, that's pretty normal, and why I don't generally watch them. I suffered through it and just ignored the girl laughing, because I really wanted to see that footage. Now I have.

When you are watching a great movie like this, the last thing you want is someone as annoying as the girl sitting somerwhere near you.
