Hollywood.com recently talked with actor Bruce Greenwood during a press junket for his next film Dinner for Schmucks.

During this talk Bruce Greenwood mentioned when Star Trek 2 (he played Christopher Pike in the first Star Trek) was going to shoot.

"I just know that the plan is to film it in January, more than that, I don't know."

However, Greenwood wouldn't commit to whether or not he was actually in the film. When asked all he would offer was:

"I'm hustling for it...we'll see...

We'll report more on this as the project unfolds.

I love how Abrams made Star Trek cool for everybody. I've been a Star Trek fan from the beginning, but it's fun seeing everyone else liking it now, too.

@Diagama, I think next summer will be pretty good. GL, X-Men: First Class, Pirates 4, Transformers 3 figure to be big movies. Thor and Captain America BETTER be good for the sake of the Avengers movie. Kids, and many adults will be happy that the sequels to Cars and Kung Fu Panda will be in theaters. And last, but hopefully not least, the second part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will arrive to put a capstone on one of the great movie franchises.

As for 2012, I'm excited, but also apprehensive. Spider-Man's reboot is not shaping up as well as I hoped, and while I trust Nolan and Abrams, nothing else is certain.

It was supposed to awesome? Last year, I already had this summer pinned as a pretty crappy season. The only things I was really looking forward to were Iron Man2 and Inception. Apart from them (and IM2 was disappointing to me) I never held any hope for this year.

So far, haven't seen or heard anything for next year to be hopeful about..

But if Batman 3 and Star Trek 2 are out Summer 2012 - I'm already a happy girl!

True, though this summer was supposed to be awesome. Instead it's a dud, save for two movies. 2011 looks a little better, but not by much. 2012 looks awesome. At least I'll die happy after that summer :P

@diaigma True but 2012 already has The Avengers, Star Trek 2, The Spider Man reboot, and Batman 3. Now that is beyond a big summer movie schedule.

I thought the fist one kicked pretty good @$$ - in a day when HWood makes three-quals of hot properties without blinking, why they're taking so much time to produce another seems a bit odd; 'specially since the actors in this seem to be getting busier and busier = more $$$.
